What Did You Do With Your Rover Today?

Worked on fixing my rear passenger door on the D1 finally, it's been unable to lock/unlock for a year...little challenging fitting a socket into the door handle to remove the nuts but after that it was pretty smooth sailing.

The plastic round clip had broke causing the lever connected to the locking mechanism to just hang.

For a quick fix used a zip tie to secure the plastic piece and put it all back together.

Little progress here and there...still working on my drive shaft swap out, hopefully I can get that done by DITD.

Fixed it for you.

This signal peak run won't work for me, wife works the night before so I'd have both kids in the morning and I'm not wanting to bring them on the first pass.

I did sign up for the maze as that looks like an afternoon thing so we can all make it.

Saturday we went down to Santa Cruz and picked up the ARB group buy stuff. I got a D3 winchbar, and immediately went home to fit it.

14 hours later... It is not centered... but hey it works.

Thanks Alyson for setting up the buy, saved a bit of money on that.

I forgot something I need for a job tomorrow so I had to come home this evening.  Took the opportunity to replace the schrader valve on my Road Shower that had been nailed by a tree branch and bent up making the tank unable to pressurize.  You would think this would be the work of about 2 minutes, but on the first gen units they used a funky metric thread size that I've never seen.  They do offer it as a repair part on their website so that's good, but instead I drilled and tapped it for 1/8" NPT and installed a standard part that I can easily replace if I need to again.

But....where's the winch?

Coming....

Mainly wanted this thing on for all the early-morning construction site work the disco sees. And in the evenings she spends a lot of time on the back roads where I usually see deer cross every night. ;)

Consensus on the best winch for these bumpers? 9.5xp?

Oh and I fixed the ghetto wiring loom for the turn signals, goes through the drivers side box and added real loom to protect all the wires that go across the radiator

Installed prospeed sliders w/ the Raptor coating today. Got the compressor guard too but looks like I have an issue with fitment with the heat shield that might need some cutting...

We'll need details, 'natch.

Its Jens old truck. Has lift rods, sliders and baja rack. Got it mostly for my mom but will also be my overland/Tow rig for baja bug. Today starting prepping lr3 for carpet cleaning and detail. Also heres a pic of the rack before it went back on the d2 . I added a extra bar for the alpine windows and made the front like a baja rack.

Yikes, Lutzi....you actually let the D2 see the younger model? They get very jealous....not something you want to incite. I hope your AAA membership is current.

Dont worry they see the 99 and what could happen if they don't behave.
