  1. Rovicon Recap podcast is out, part 1 at least. We have so much great content we had to do it in parts! Probably 3 parts. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/nclr-after-dark/id1615586586?i=1000667592541
  2. Rovicon 6 recap is out! Part 1 at least. So much content that we will be having at least 3 parts. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/nclr-after-dark/id1615586586?i=1000667592541
  3. Saw this D2 on the Skinwalker stanch show on History channel. It was all kitted out to detect ufo’s. Kind of interesting they took a little time to show the vehicle and go over some of the features. And then it ends up having electrical issues and screwing up their experiment 😂
  4. Come on guys! Let see them pics!! https://photos.app.goo.gl/eSq9J39XtnBAGWBz7
  5. Brutal trip, but memorable! The recap will be worth a listen.
  6. I use action packers. They can be found for very reasonable prices if you shop around. They aren’t fancy, but they work well. They hold up fine on the roof with ratchet straps cinched tight. What I like about them is the size. The pelicans etc just aren’t big enough for me. The 24 gallon action packer holds a lot. If you throw a few on the roof you will be able to bring everything you need for several days.
  7. Getting the buggy Rovicon ready! Picked it up from DF Fabrication Friday. Put on some new rubber today. Found a cool little shop in Campbell that was willing to pop the rim off the old tires and press them into the new one. I still had to do the rest of the beadlock mounting, but that saved me a ton of time and effort. Very tough to find a shop that will mess with big tires and beadlocks. Lots of small things to do still, but it should be good to go by Thursday.
  8. Bought this rear storage shelf for the D2 from Golden Rovers and installed it today. Easy install, about 30-60 minutes I’d estimate. Storage is always tight since I typically have dog crates and tools/parts with me when I go wheeling. So this unutilized portion of the inside space was a great spot to add a shelf. Will be nice for the tent, sleeping bags, duffels, etc.
  9. Added some rear bumper support as I was getting pushed up into my rear quarter a little too much lately. This should fix it as it should be able to handle the full weight of the vehicle similar to my rock sliders. Also added a couple body washers to make up for the sag I am getting from my deformed body mounts in the rear. Pretty common issue with D2’s. If you rock crawl with your d2 then you probably have body mounts in similar condition.
  10. Hell Hole Recap pod is out https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/nclr-after-dark/id1615586586?i=1000659858608 and leave a review please
  11. Made it home without issue. Good to be back from a trip like Hell Hole with nothing to repair. Was a fun adventure as per usual. Plenty of winching, tire spinning, rock stacking, body kisses, and we even had a busted out window! Hell Hole never disappoints. We will be getting a Google album soon for photo and video sharing. Also look out for a recap podcast coming soon. Thank you to Jesse, Oliver, Timm, Jeff, Tyler, Cooper, Mike, and Leigh Anne for coming out!
  12. So I still need to take apart my rear axle and put in the new diff, but I should t have a problem getting that done after work today. So I anticipate leaving in the AM and getting to Uncle Toms by noon. I will update my eta when I’m on the road tomorrow. for those doing the day trip, you can meet us at camp or at the trailhead. The plan will be to leave camp at 9am and depart down the trail by 10. Attendance will determine whether we run it in one or two groups. It’s a narrow trail with a few sections that require time, so we will likely eventually merge into one group anyways.
  13. We will also be going up Friday and camping till Sunday or Monday or Tuesday. I am going to not schedule any work and try to get out of the bay anrea early. Anybody down to meet at Uncle Toms before heading to camp?
  14. Bump. Come on guys, let’s hear it if you’re coming. Need at least a handful to do this run.
