  1. I fear I may have to say goodbye to my Range Rover Sport with the growing number of problems becoming increasingly cost prohibitive to maintain. Basics 2006 RRS 242k original miles NCLR014 many offroad miles mostly with this club. Regrettably ditched the air suspension for coils years ago cuz it woulda cost double to keep air suspension. Showing its age Since January, I'd been back to Cerrone's 3 times with engine faults. Codes would show a misfire - each time on a different cylinder. Each time they'd replace ignition coils under warranty no problem except last week, this was Tyler's observations Misfire is gone however the vehicle drives extremely poorly. Has a violent surge coming the the transmission mostly likely the Torque converter failing. Also has a very loud Drivetrain noise coming from either the transfer case or one of the Differentials or both. Vehicle also blew a bunch of smoke when we started the car after letting it site in the morning meaning it is most likely burning some oil as well. Vehicle has very high mileage with as bas as the transmission and that noise is I am not sure how much longer it is going to drive like that before having an issue I knew the torque converter was a ticking time bomb, but the undiagnosed transfer case/diff noise and smoke is new. Repairing any of these alone exceed 2x/3x the vehicle's value 😭 I'd hate to part it out, but there are some usable goodies/unobtainium on there.
  2. ooh i just might be able to make moab, but not texas.
  3. Not much here in Fremont. There's Besa Quality Auto Care in Oakland if you must stay in the East Bay, but I've been taking my LRs to Cerrone's for years. They're not so involved with the club anymore, but always helpful.
  4. ooh i think i can make this. anyone caravaning up?
  5. yes i did go...in my NAS 😎. the pictured black 130 had the biggie V8 and it was huge. doubt it would fit in my garage. the wrapped 90 looked like it would be cramped for 4 with no cargo space. definitely needs that roof rack. i drove a 110 with a V6 and it was plenty of power for me.
  6. Before we were NCLR, a bunch of us were regulars on the now retired LRRForums when someone (Jarrell?) posted LR Redwood City's customer event in Hollister. Since we got along in the forums and in person, someone said hey let's start a club and the rest is history. January 2007.
  7. Since the last time we crashed one of their events we started this club, wondering if anyone is going to the Defender Event this Saturday. I went to one of the RR launch events years ago. Parts Manager Paul and I ended up going for the test drive without a sales person.
  8. Are you guys gonna investigate the Zodiac killer too? https://www.sfchronicle.com/sf/article/zodiac-killer-identity-sierra-rock-formation-18138246.php
  9. Sasquatch test fitted his adjustable rods on my RRS when he developed them. Super easy to install/uninstall and you get quicker the more times you do them. I set them for a ~2" lift, but ran the original rods daily and swapped them out for the trail. Shortly after, I beta tested the GAP tool which confirmed my laziness as I opted to use the GAP tool to get lift and stopped swapping out rods. Note that the GAP tool calculates a max lift you can get during calibration while rods gives everyone the same amount of max lift. I was also too lazy to experiment with the combo of adjustable rods + GAP to see how much max lift I could get.
  10. Super crowded today so good thing you guys avoided it. I did more recovery than wheeling today. #1 - Lead Chevy Tahoe gets caught up on a twisty decline with a steep drop off and a perpendicular trail with another drop off at the end. #2 - Tacoma burns up his clutch then traction control and CEL protests in response #3 - On my way out, since I didn't get much wheeling in, I decided to swing by the new obstacle course then the ravine at the bottom of Truck Hill when two kids in a Dodge Ram have their axle stuck in a rut about 1/4 way headed downward. Third times a charm so I didn't tempt fate and headed home right away LOL
  11. My friends are camping at the site next to the original obstacle course so I'll be around & about there. I'll have my radio on me. We still using 146.460?
  12. i have some other friends that were going to hollister anyway so i'll be there on saturday regardless and was pleasantly happy to see MORG is there too so i'll see y'all there
  13. Aw shucks my Sunday plans got canceled but not Saturday. If it were reversed I would totally join.
  14. for the longest time it was just me in the club with the lone RRS and now look.
  15. Garrison Outfitters SW window trim kit went onto the D90 yesterday
  16. Picked up some knockoff key fob case from China on ebay. $12 shipped for two. Finally got around to transplanting the guts and both sets of keys to the RRS look good as new.
  17. And the RRS gets some love - A pillar interior cover replacements as the fabric has been peeling for a while now and several failed attempts at spray adhesive proved futile
