Here is my contribution to wet Wednesday! Hot off the trip this past weekend with Josh & Jake at the cursed Frank Raines. 

I have just signed up and currently convincing Nida to join Jason and I. 
 
We are really hoping to see you there Jeff (@jcb).

Stickers are on order, the patches are being quoted, the t-shirts.... well we need everyone to get signed up so we can get them in time ; ).

I just signed up but m not entirely sure I can make it as I am in chemo and am not certain exactly how long it will last.
If I can't make it and there are more than 15 I am happy to gift the spot to whoever is next on the list.
Hard to describe how much I want to do this and see you guys again...  Still dreaming of the Mojave.

Slowly.. slowly ever so slowly, the itinerary is coming together. Once complete I will add it to the first post. 
 

Today Henry and I did a bit of maintenance on Snowflake
1. Re-shimmed the axles
2. Fixed the AC drain tube
3. Began troubleshooting some new electrical issues  :(
 
Henry is incredibly good at ensuring the dial indicator is fastened securely. 

Okay so this didn't happen today, but who's checking.  I'm sure glad Miles let me pull the D1 into the garage for this job, cause it was dumping rain outside.  Brake pads are weird, one was okay still but the other took a dump on the way home from work.  So a brake job was in order.

OK! 3 of us are heading out to Selby around about noon tomorrow and will hopefully see 3 more trucks later on. 
looking forward to a break from Porsche's😁

I ran out of time Wednesday... so I am posting today.
After the Carrizo Plains trip Snowflake was proper muddy. It was time for another product from Harbor Freight.

I can say that for around $20 bucks I really don't know why I did not get one sooner. It works incredibly well.



It only took about 2 hours and twice for soap, wash, repeat to get it clean.
Also the meguiars foamed up much better than the turtle wash - will be trying others in search of MAXIMUM FOAM!

 

The results are in! 

The Oregon BDR Trip is set for June 24th to July 2nd.

I do have to work on it though. It collapsed during the night. I guess I need two lines per pole and/or the tarp secured to the car with lines instead of bungees.

So I am going to be headed out to NY for this trip with the Midwest and East Coast boys. I wanted to see who all here would like to join?

What a wild month. 
Back at it again. Rear arms dropped for some RTE corrected ones. Shock dropper till I find my shocks and cranked watts arm.  Pics of driveline angle at "full" droop, when the springs were able to flop out. 

We may be a bunch of rock crawlers and overlanders, but we car people at the heart of it. Car people like to drive. So we are going to have some fun driving! We are going to have a 2 round go karting competition!
 
The friendly competition will be a 2 round event with the first round being split up between the Bay Area and Sacramento. On March 25th we will be meeting up at K1 Speed in Santa Clara and Sacramento. The exact parameters of the competition will depend on how many people we have who can commit to participating and whether that is enough for us to schedule a private party.
 
“Winners” will have the opportunity to compete in the Final at the K1 Speed in Fairfield in April. Winners of the Final will receive some yet to be determined prizes. 
 
Please let us know if you are interested in participating. We haven’t set a time of day because that may be dependent on whether we have a private party or not. So it’s important for us to get a relatively accurate number of participants. 
Please post on this thread if you plan to come.

Yes, the cold frozen garage floor did hold up progress, but for for long, heater in the works.
Gm 4.8 out of the boot. rover wiggled into position, tomorrow I start the timer. 
Learned I'm not getting out of the garage until I put the LR block in the boot. Stick with a 2" lift or keep stock wheels/tires around if you like garages lol. 
Thank goodness for the raised roof. I had to remove the chain and use the hook on a tow strap as a sling to get the block up and crane low enough to slide out.

Last weekend was halted due to the heater and a breaker getting into a fight. 
Attacking the little bits before getting under, I do have three 90° screwdrivers at home, I've never used them, so didn't bring them. Of course.... I proceeded to argue the radiator instead of doubling back. Don't think I saved any time hahaha

Definitely. I plan to leave Cupertino around 4.30. Possibly meet up with Sasha later around Salinas??. Let’s coordinate during the day. 

all right, I slapped some new rear brake pads into the D1 tonight...just in time too, almost metal on metal...Kinda fixed the countertop shelf on the back door (needs a little work still)...but i'm head out tomorrow afternoon, leaving Mountain View/Sunnyvale around 4:30...Robert maybe we can connect on the way out of town...

Yep looks to be a bit drizzly. Should be absolutely gorgeous!
Looks like Saturday and Sunday are the tail end of it, with only 40% chance of rain Saturday.

I'm gonna do my best to be there.  Just gotta change the pads on the rear brakes and reattach the swing down counter to the back door.
