  7. Hi All, Same trail, more NCLR peeps. Lutzi (110 truck), Tammy (P38), me in my 110 Perentie and Dylan carrying MJ in his 'Yota. Lutzi and Tammy up for the day, retreating around 4 pm to head home. The rest of us three soldiers hanging for the night, cooking up steaks & taters. Some exciting wheel lifts recorded on video, some rubber torn off my KM-3's, but otherwise no issues... Just a lot of bouncing around on rocky sections and 1st & 2nd low range work. More pics to follow! --Paul
  8. Travel dates amended. See original post. Think we can run it 11/29 to 12/5 or 12/6 at the very latest. --Paul
  9. Any new takers on this trip...? We need peeps to help us drink all that whiskey..! JK... Might have another RRC from San Diego joining us, but time will tell. C'mon guys, cash in your Fun Tickets and let's do this --) --Paul
  10. If I was to ever list my Perentie on BaT... I would just say: "Comes with Dual Bottle Openers." --Paul
  11. Hi All, Due to varying circumstances, this trip has been cancelled. I will keep the thread up for 48 hours, then delete it after that. Keep on Rovering, Paul Hi everyone! In the spirit of the "official" EMHT Segment 3 & 4 trail run executed by team NCLR this past May, we are offering another chance to "get out there" for those who (like me!) couldn't carve out enough time to run it in May. So, with apologies, I am reposting this, with edits, from the original announcement: WHEN? Day after Thanksgiving November 29th (travel day) to December 5th or 6th. 2024 Overland Event Location: For 2024, we plan on traversing Segments 3 & 4 of the Eastern Mojave Heritage Trail in Southern California. The route will start near Ludlow and conclude in Needles, CA covering approximately 350 miles. This route is far more remote than those experienced on Segments 1 &2 we traveled in 2022. This trip will start at Mailbox 3 to cut off the trail from Rocky Ridge through Jackass Canyon and Broadwell Lake due to time constraints. We could also meet at Ludlow and caravan to Mailbox 3 to arrive in group/convoy form. For those that want to "feel whole" about running Segment 3, which starts at the TOP of Rocky Ridge, you could always run that part on your way home, turning left off of Kelbaker Road, and running SW, exiting at Ludlow. The trip highlights are many including petroglyphs, old tank tracks, local history, mines, sprawling scrublands, and of course, incredible desert camping opportunities galore! Dates and Itinerary: Nov 29th - Dec 6th (+ or -) Nov 29th - Transit Day to Mailbox 3 Nov 30th - Trail Day 1: Mailbox 3 to Granite Pass Dec 1st - Trail Day 2: Granite Pass to Hole-in-the-Wall Dec 2nd - Trail Day 3: Hole in the Wall to Leiser Ray Mine Dec 3rd - Trail Day 4: Lieser Ray Mine to Lost Arch Dec 4th - Trail Day 5: Lost Arch to Eagle Pass Dec 5th - Transit Day 6: Eagle Pass to Needles to Home -- if opted...! Dec 6th - Situation Day: Buffer and Optional Transit Day As always our pace will depend on a variety of factors including road conditions, speed, truck issues, interest in stops, etc. Please check back as the itinerary is being put together. Registration: Reply here on this thread to commit. No fees, just a positive attitude! Would like to keep this to 6 vehicles. Difficulty & Vehicle Requirements: Stock vehicles are certainly welcome and will likely have no issues on the trail. While the trail is certainly not easy in all places, I expect we can get everyone through without major difficulty. Adventure trailers are welcome, but expect hitch dragging and tight quarter maneuvering. Things to expect: Pinstripes are 100% going to happen. Divorce yourself from your paint now. There are many steep drops and rises in and out of washes, depending on what this year's winter brings, the roads could be fine, or a washed out disaster. Vehicles that have low profile front and rear bumpers may see scuffing/contact. Minimum Vehicle Requirements Mechanically Sound Rover (as best as they are) Working E-Brake/Parking Brake 30" tires including full-size spare Recovery Points front and rear Center Differential Lock (CDL) (or other modern equivalent) Minimum Gear Requirements: Enough water for each participant for multiple days Extra Fuel Spare parts and tools Tire Repair Kits Fire Extinguisher First Aid kit Recommended Vehicle Requirements and gear: Armor (rear bumpers, diff guards, sliders) Working winch Vehicle Jack and Tire patch kit Shovel Modern Rovers w Air Suspension should have a SYA kit, air lockout kit equipped, or a GAP tool and know how to use it.= Weather: Low to mid 60's in the day and cold nights... high 30's -- Bring your cold weather gear! Who's in...? More as we adjust route and timing. Rover on, Paul D. Below: Leiser-Ray, Devil's Playground, my RRC @ Budweiser Spring
  12. NCLR member Paul D. (me) and former/erstwhile/satellite member Matthew J., along with a Toyota friend, made the climb up from Navajo Flat to the awesome camp site at the top of Forest Route 30S14 (AKA Pine Mountain Road/Trail) on June 19th -- 20th. Went up there 2 years ago when it became a night run after doing a little winching. No winching this time but lockers were engaged on a couple of sections. The fun part is only 3 miles, but it takes about 2 hours to run it. Fabulous weather... Great camp fire conversation. Maybe going again in the Fall. Camp site can fit maybe 5 trucks. Cheers, Paul
  13. It was cool to see that the run had THREE white RRC's...! --Paul
  14. Bummer Yohann...! What happened? I "sold" my spot to NCLR alumnus Chuck M. (AKA Desert Crawler) -- He is super stoked to join everyone on this run...! --Paul
  15. So sorry to hear Jeff..! Yes, Prez is correct. We (I) may be running this as Overland 2024 v.2 in the Fall to help "complete the circle." Sending positive healing energy your way! --Paul
