Alrighty folks - the not-so-rough-draft has been attached here and to the first post.
I'll continue to refine during the week, but this is the plan. I'd plan on expecting the unexpected on this one...
- Sand flag needed - yes, please obtain a whip and sand flag for this trip. It will be necessary when we cross into the Christmas Valley dunes. This has been added to the minimum vehicle requirement list.
- Rain, could be
- Run out of fuel? - Only if you forget your friend Jerry ; ).
- Trees down? - Johann and I have chainsaws
- Rivers too high to cross... well then this is gonna be an (alternate) adventure
- Satellites mis-reading snow levels - recoveries are in order
- Mosquitos? - Bring 100% Deet
- Mud, I bet so.

Outfitted for camping can mean as simple as packing a tent. You don't really need much more.  

@Motobrewer - holding off on beer order because I may have to cancel. Family health issue still up in the air. At least it made me wax my RRC...!

Since you’re driving a rover, at least couple of credit cards with high spending limits for gas. 😂 
But seriously, besides the credit cards, extra fluid (oil, coolant, etc.) and snacks. 
my 3yo will be riding shotgun, so I’m sure that 400mi drive will be broken up into at least 3 stops.

I recall there was a discussion about doing a club trip up that way this coming year.

Those are nice and going to royal brass has been my plan all along. But it looks like most crimps have a service life of a few years before needing service again. So, I was thinking the hose clamp route will make future serviceability easier.
Of course, California could ban & outlaw all gas powered vehicles in a few yrs and this becomes a non-issue. 😂 😭 
 
Wow… glad you caught the oil leak in time. I bet snowflake saw its life flashed before its headlights! 
Now, let me introduce you to thermo hose wraps… I put these around the oil hoses so any oil spray is contained inside the hose even if hose bursts. it’s cheap insurance if nothing else.

Up in Shaver Lake they have snow parks along the roads with cheap parking and usually pre made sled runs from local kids 

We're looking to take our 2.5yo for his sledding trip.
Any suggestions (which sno park?) do folks have experience and recommend? Looking to do this between xmas & new year. 
Also, open to making this a day (or 1/2 day) to catch up with club members.

we tried to do this with our kid last year. we stayed in Arnold, CA. Never made it to the snow park because of the huge winter storm last year around Christmas time. We ended up sledding next to the food store in Arnold.

just got back from visiting family in NY... gotta pack and plan to leave Wed morning to Needles... hotel overnight, arrive into Cottonwood Thursday afternoon.
