  1. I've created enough stories to fuel their fire there...LOL. Great suggestions from you and Paul. If you want to make it back from the trail without incident buy a "Land Cruiser" lol...
  2. In that case, I need to drive down!!
  3. The Canvas tents like the OZ or ever Overland Pros had some not sure if they still do are an amazing four season tent. The gazelle tent is one that's on my radar for future spend, they have great review for a four season as well. Typically those tents are great in winter and can be warm in summer unless you open all the doors. I had a roof top tent and they have their pluses for sure!! But, I'm more into reducing the things I bring. So depending on who's coming in summer I'm leaning towards hammocks or a Gazelle tent unless I can find an Overland Pros ground tent.
  4. We have a link to share the pictures from the trip. https://photos.app.goo.gl/uTnubB2A7kBaCygf6 This turned out to be best spot yet, for many reasons...highly likely to always have snow this time of year and some great fire roads to explore in the snow. Bathroom facilities on site, less than a mile from the S89 exit. https://goo.gl/maps/rAnJd85pMC8H6xLb6 So next year I'll have folks meet up at Donner Creek Brewing for a beer/lunch. Then we'll depart from there around 1pm. Will make it easy to accommodate groups any direction at various times. If you weren't able to make this one work but are still interested, definitely worth the trip and I believe still tree permits available.
  5. Okay, so plan for those making it...meet up at 1030 ish at the Starbucks off Sierra College drive from I80. We'll plan to leave around 11 and head for Truckee and meet up at the Savemart next to McDonalds off of 89 South around 1230-1PM. The tree area is just south near Granite Flat camp ground. We'll look for a tree and check out the Truckee river too. After that we can see what folks are up for...lunch likely and maybe some snowshoeing/sledding. Please message me or comment here if you are going. So far I know of Tyler and Gabe who are coming.
  6. So let me know if you are planning to come Saturday, I'm leaning towards the Truckee area as only interest currently is from Tyler and Co. So meeting in the middle and lot's of places to snow shoe as well as we may try to do that as well with the kids. Thanks,
  7. So we can go up higher elevation to near Cisco Grove and or up by Truckee, for a day Trip it may make more sense to do the Cisco Grove area. Let me know what people are thinking... 8. Wow, I hadn't seen that notice before!! Well then, I'll need to see about other potential locations.
  9. So today is Nov 9 and in other terms Xmas tree permits are for sale...China wall is in the American River ranger station, but if they sell out I think having something is better than nothing. They do go quick...so feel free to get one soon!
  10. So we have a club Fordyce run, but we've been busy to get it on the forum...as this started as a discussion during rovicon. So last minute in a way. But you can still meet up! Starting tonight camping at the first water crossing. Then see if we can make it through it Saturday or maybe end up Sunday. Don and Tyler are arriving late tonight, so hit them up for a caravan in. Others like Lutz, Scully, Jesse and Gus are navigating traffic now. Plan for snow...it will be cold! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Okay, so time for our annual Xmas Tree run/Snow run! We're planning to head up this Saturday, November 26th, and cut down xmas trees ideally we will have some snow, so keep your fingers crossed! We are heading to China wall and here's a Google link for reference. https://goo.gl/maps/VuBWMpiUSKHy6Tiy5 You will need a tree permit for Tahoe national forest and they are $10, not yet available, usually go on sale beginning of November. Check back here and I'll let you know when I see them. Have a read through here. https://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/tahoe/home/?cid=fseprd677370&width=full For the details: Meeting from 10:30 - 11am in Rocklin at the Starbucks https://goo.gl/maps/KmA4xBnYP3n4x1uF8 We'll leave at around 11am and plan to arrive around noon to China Wall. From there we'll park and have lunch, explore around and cut down a tree. For those wanting to explore, the road converts to snow park just past the parking lot and eventually a dirt road too, so we'll head out and check out some the area depending on time folks want to spend. For those wanting to camp, there are sites in the area and weather is fairly warm. You can also disperse camp as long as there are no posted signs stating otherwise in the US Forest Land. Let me know if you have any questions.

  16. Hi Rupert, We've tried organizing it but ran into forest fires a couple of years in a row and the Rovicon ends up being the second weekend in August as that's when we can get a reservation for Rubicon springs. We'd love to get it going again, feel free to plan it out!! Lot's of newer members with Rovers that would really enjoy it I believe!!
  17. Great idea!! I have to say, batshit is the best in my opinion...
  18. It's the cleanest one will ever see a rover engine!
  19. Thanks Brian! I am trying to keep is "clean", but it's a challenge with it being a multi use space. I do have garage goals like Don...but likely post kids college.
  20. I did a thing the other day...slowly making progress!
  21. Have everyone! Take lots of pictures and feel free to tag the NCLR IG account I'll look to share your stories/post.
  22. Alex is great, Tim Scully with Scully off-road and Gene McCaffrey’s in Rocklin plus Diamond Autosport has Gil a Land Rover tech and club member there. Hopefully those help you…welcome to the club! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I believe he's the original owner of it...I should reach out as he was hoping to make events in.
