I hope it doesn't turn out like the kit car build I was involved in back in my teens.  Everything was going great, we had substituted better parts (mainly Porsche in place of VW) and had everything lined up and running.  Wasn't until the test drive that we realized why others didn't do the same transaxle swap that we had.  We had four reverse gears and one forward!  By using the 'wrong' transaxle, we'd changed the drive direction.

You know they sell it in O'Reillys?  Oh, it leaks so bad that you need a 55 gallon drum?  Got it!

I wasn't doing mine, just researching for the future.  Tim was the one looking.  LSeats samples didn't thrill me, and I have a local shop that did some amazing seat and carpet work on a prior XJS, so I'm sorted for mine (actually have an XK8 seat that I want them to redo soon).  It was a few years ago, and it was pricey then though.

    Ron,

Next you'll be saying you went over to the dark side and bought a j---

I recently justified having multiple LRs.  A discussion about how you go shopping and prevent infection.  It doesn't matter how many masks or gloves you wear while shopping, you touched every item.  You then touch the bags, the door handle, and then the steering wheel.  Even if you change gloves, you touch the new gloves while putting them on.  Next time you go out to your car (within the "72" hours that are often quoted as 'infection time') you touch those items and .... but if every time you go out you use a different Land Rover then you're safe!!!

Stay safe ... and buy Land Rovers

Yes, but only just.  Basically, the State Department said to get home within 48 hours or risk being abroad "indefinitely".  I didn't like that idea, so complied.

    Miles,

Actually, I worked 56 hours last week .... when we come out the other side I'd like a job to go to, and unless I make sure my department hits the ground running, we will be last in line for tradesmen to do the real work.  Now is my time to get vendors on-boarded, quotes in and analyzed, and P.O.s placed.  The big "E" saw a large number of my P.O. requests yesterday.

It is raining this weekend so I can't get outside to do garden work, and the Rovers are sadly neglected.

Totally possible to winch backwards using a front winch, but remember one thing.  If you're moving a 5000lb vehicle out of mud you may need more than 5000lbs effective force.  The reason a pulley system works in this scenario is because you have 2 x 5000lb at the back against 1 x 5000lbs at the front, so it is the difference causing the motion.  It also means that the benefit of using a snatch block is only to reverse the motion, not to multiply the force (the normal reason for using a snatch block).  So you'll need a good winch to really make this useful (although demonstrating it works on the flat is easy, and should work for any winch).  Add two more snatch blocks and it works even better!

Greetings to all you deal grabbers!!!

As many of you now, we at RoverWare.US (that's www.RoverWare.US) don't usually participate in the mayhem of pseudo-sales.  You know, the "up to 30% off" but what you want has just 10% off, or less.  We prefer to offer deals all year (after all, if a company can sell cheaper, why don't they do it all year around?)

This year we are making an exception for LR3/LR4/RRS owners.

We have stock of wishbones/control-arms that are just getting in the way and need to go!

Usually we sell these 'each', but these deals are going to be pairs (that's one for each side!) at a discount of at least 20% off our usual already low price.
Some are genuine LR others are Bearmach (which I believe to be OE).

Please check fitment for your vehicle, as these are "no returns".  Just one set of each available.  Delivery to most of Bay Area free (and possibly along the I80 corridor too).

    Remember, prices per pair!

    Rear upper LR3
    RGG500052/RGG500042 OE at $192

Front Upper RRS (stiffer bushes apparently than LR3)
    RBJ500840/RBJ500850 OE at $145 -- sold

    Front Upper LR3/4
RBJ500232/RBJ500222 Genuine LR, one even in a box, at $154 (at that price we're giving them away!!!) SOLD

    Lower Rear LR3/4
LR051592/LR051594 genuine LR at $300 (find a better deal than that and we'll try to match it and give you a free sticker!)

    Lower Front LR3/4
    RBJ500446/RBJ500456 BM at $300 -- sold

Hope you all had sufficient turkey!

    Regards,
