  1. I picked up a house right next to the  event .It will be myself ,Tammy and Will .It has a garage incase anybody has a broken rover that needs fixing or just to hang out .Tammy and i are planning to hit the road on the 8th. Should take us about two days to get there .Going to camp out near moab Rim trail for a night or two then off to the house.

  2. Almost ready for this trip. Lots of maintenance done just a little more to do. All I have left is a few electrical bugs to work out. I want my ac to work. A full maintenance on this truck seems to be 30 gal of oil. And 2 tubes of grease. I want to do coolant next I am just trying to figure out what the best coolant is as apparently there is cavitation issues that eat the block on this engine.

Back to the trip. Is it alright to arrive at camp later at night?

i was just watching a video about the cavitation problem on some diesel. I had no idea that was a issue.

Doesn't matter to me what time you make it. i'm planing on being at camp around 3 to 4 .Might have a few runs i need to do on friday.

Since it's been awhile... How does one buy an Adventure Pass...? At the local ranger station? I can't find a working on-line link.

I also need to get one they have them at big 5 last i looked.

  3. If its on road i would be tempted to do a 1.4 transferase gears but if she's struggling on the rocks diff gears are the way.

Ashcroft has a ratio calc that helps

Looks like 4.37 would be about the same as it was on 35's and 4.11. I ran 4.11 on 33's so that would be about the same as 37;s on 4.75. Back in the day 4.75 used to be weaker but not sure if thats still true. Maybe ask Ashcroft.

  4. Hey everyone planning a trip to Oceano Dunes for May 14-16. Due to Covid the State park only has 100 campsites and are already sold out for the next six months on the weekends . So thinking we could camp either at Hi Mt campground or Lake Lopez . Hi Mt is about 40 mins from the dunes while Lopez is 20 . HI MT is in the national forest and is complete dry camping and should be quite while Lopez is a county campground. Let me no what everyone thinks. Now if we go midweek we could camp at the dunes.

    Gps to camp

  5. As you know i run the Kanati mud hog .More of a desert tire then a full on rock .it has worn well but not as sticky as i would like.. Only thing i would be worried with a sticky tire would be breaking something. Also i run a race tire (sticky) on my bug and only get about 2k miles on them.

  6. if were up there early as well and you dont mind we would love to join you on a couple pre runs, i promise to try and not be too big a pain on the trail.

Every body is welcome to join. The plan to lead these trails for the rally. Poison Spider Mesa,Moab Rim,Top of the World so they will be the pre run trails.I need to get off my butt and put a cage in the rover.

  7. Figured out why the 110 lost oil pressure on the way down. The end of the cam broke off! Per Turner Engineering it happens occasionally on 200Tdi’s. Easy fix - just pull entire engine, take it halfway apart, paint the block, have the flywheel machined since I forgot that when replacing the clutch, put in a new windshield and frame, have the roof and sides painted...
