  1. Sneak peak at new Tesla models?
  2. Good plan! Unfortunately, I plan to cheat too by using my “new” D2. 😉
  3. I got campsite 46. All my favorite sites were already gone. Better reserve now if you are planning to come. The place tends to fill up…
  4. That's a pity... I want to go, but I'm still not sure if I will be able to come. Too many happenings and definitely not enough weekends!
  5. Hanami? I didn't know there were cherry trees there 😉 Selby sounds good. I guess there will be no flooded roads this time. I'll monitor the board and will get in touch on Friday.
  6. Great! I should be able to start some time on Friday (not in the morning). Are you camping at Selby, or KCL, or somewhere else?
  7. I wonder where I got the idea from 🤔 I do have to work on it though. It collapsed during the night. I guess I need two lines per pole and/or the tarp secured to the car with lines instead of bungees.
  8. The trip was gorgeous. There was great company, snow, being stuck (a lot), winching and pulling, camping, and then back to snow, and so on. Will post photos and write a bit more in the next few days. I only now got home: Hwy 17 had a nasty accident.
  9. Hope to see you in May at the Corral Hollow trip. Might still be snow there!
  10. All right, we have at least four trucks now: two D2s and 2 Defenders. I’m coming with my wife Anna and we’ll bring our dog. Eric already posted the meeting plan, which we will follow. It will take us >1hr to get from Auburn to Washington, so it would be great to start from Auburn promptly after 10am to give us more time on the trail. The good news is that Auburn is not far. Even from me it is not much more than 3hr on Saturday morning. @Revel2021,you are the farthest by far. Are you coming on Friday and staying overnight in the area? It’s a long drive from Jamul. 😉 Mike might join us in Auburn, or meet us in Washington. If we are successful at getting to a camping spot, we’ll need firewood. I’ll bring at least one hot wood box, but we’ll need more. It’s going to be cold 🥶 I second Eric’s recommendation to bring real shovels: we’ll need them. Traction boards might come in handy as well. We will use our usual 146.460MHz frequency for Ham communications. Looking forward to seeing all of you on Saturday! Sasha
  11. Got it. Thank you Nathan. I might not be able to make it on Friday until pretty late, especially if kids are coming with me. In any case, I'll stay tuned for updates.
  12. I am interested in joining on this weekend. Hope it’s ok. This is one of a few ones the family can make as well. Please let me know about details.
  13. I plan to come. Will drive out on Friday, but not before 6pm. This is assuming that the camping site is within ~4 hours (no traffic) from here.
  14. Ah, and to think that I just finally (I hope) fixed rain leaks on D2! Now LR3 going to get some attention. I’ve never been to Carrizo planes. So I like the plan. Hope we do go to Bowman in April, or at least it snows again here in the mountains. Not going to miss that again!
  15. I don’t know. I was surprised yours is the same as mine. Aren’t you on a semester system? I’m leaning towards Dunes. Never been there.
  16. I just realized that April 1-2 is Oceano Dunes MORG. The plot thickens. Dunes might be a simpler thing to do.
  17. Oliver, I might be interested in a shorter trip (my spring break is the same as yours, but I need to grade, so will have to stay in town through Tuesday, March 28. I can get to the Valley some time on March 29 and will have to be back in SC on Sunday, April 2. This gives us 3 to 4 days in the Valley. If this time frame works, we can talk about a trip plan (I'm thinking, approximately, Trona-Mengel's pass-Chloride city-Titus Canyon-Saline Valley-Dunes; not in one day of course 😉 ). I did this route about a year ago and it took the total of 5 days (including travel from and back to SC). I believe we can adjust it a bit to fit timing for those who want to go. We can do another route too. The point is that 3 to 4 days in the DV might be really nice. 1 or 2 is not worth the length of the trip for me 😞
  18. Tell me about it. It's a good thing that Miles and Co set up the poll to be open until April.
