  1. I finally figured out my schedule and I plan to go with the whole family. We’ll aim to start (very) early on Friday. Let’s stay in touch about the early Friday convoy that Miles mentioned.
  2. It would be nice to know what exactly the cleanup event means. I called them, but couldn’t get through today (answering machine). Will try again tomorrow morning. In the meantime, maybe those in the club who participated in such events can chime in? Personally, I’m game to go and pick up some garbage while on the trail 😉
  3. I’m in for the 22nd as long as the rig cooperates.
  4. I would love to come and should be able to do the 22nd.
  5. I just reserved a spot. Hope nothing unexpected happens between now and then and I'll be able to make it!
  6. I'll bring two sets of rubber mats for LR3. One set is by Land Rover: both 1st and 2nd row. It would benefit from a wash. Otherwise, it is in perfect shape and is pretty much indestructible. The second set is by WeatheTeach: 1st row only and tan colored. These are lightweight, but easy to clean and have nice side lips that help to prevent snow and water seeping into the carpet. These are in a "like new condition".
  7. Turned on the fire pit in the backyard. Not quite the same as in the mountains.
  8. We are heading out today (Friday) around 1-2pm. I don't want to drive off highway in the dark, so plan to camp close to the beginning of the Fordyce trail where we camped in one of this year's MORGs. After that I expect to be at the turn-off from 80 to the the White Rock Lake by about 10am Saturday morning. I will be happy to meet up about that time to caravan to the lake with anyone who plans to be there about that time. My phone # is 8312953879. I will also have my ham on when camping tonight and through Sunday. Looks like we are having many ways and times people travel to the site this time. Will be interesting to see how we all converge in one place 😉
  9. I plan to come with Anna. We'll bring the dog, but leave the kids to do their scouting somewhere else. We will drive in on Friday or Saturday. Will know for sure closer to the date. Will bring an inflatable kayak. Looking forward to it!
  10. Thank you Serge for organizing the trip and for describing it in both podcast and here. Your laid back "let's take out time" attitude was much appreciated. I enjoyed your's and Ron's company a lot. It was also great to meet David and his daughter Sierra. Hope to see them again in future outings. I don't have much to add to Serge's description of the trip. "Lost in lion's butt" does come to mind though 🙂
  11. Deciding the morning of sounds good to me. I am not familiar with camping there either. Maybe someone who is will chime in between now and then 😉
  12. These look like nice camping spots! I just wanted to confirm that we will be able to make it there after the trail in a reasonable time. If I am not mistaken, the trail is a bit south of 108, and the Lost Lakes are south of 88. That's quite far given that there are no highways between the big roads.
  13. I plan to come and see how far I can get I’m in for camping as well.
  14. In order of preference: Corral Hollow (that would be awesome) Hollister Big Sur
  15. I just checked and videos are at 1080p, which is what I used. It looks like it does take a little while for google to process the files after the upload.
  16. I’ve uploaded what I had. Hope the quality of the videos will improve. It looks like google is reprocessing them somehow. If the resolution does not get better, I'll try to upload again later.
  17. This is a bummer! It happened to me once before. I blame the camera manufacturer for not showing BIG RED icon that obscures the shot and says NO CARD. But no worries, your dust/tire photo can still get into NatGeo if they appreciate the uniqueness of the apparent 90 degree rotation of gravitational force that affected the photographer only. "Series" anomaly? I have some videos that Daniel and I took. I'll upload later today.
  18. I just passed Angels camp. Should get to the camp just before 9pm. Forgot my radio at home, so will wave if lost.
  19. Ah, I missed the link. I have it now. If I do get lost, it should be close enough for ham contact, hopefully.
  20. I finished installing the rear upper/lower arms and got it aligned today. So far nothing fell off, so I'm ready to go. The plan is to start driving from Santa Cruz around 3-4pm tomorrow (Friday). I'll come with my kids. It would be great if someone could send me coordinates of the campsite. I have an idea of where it is, but it would be nice to know for sure 🙂 On Saturday morning I'm ready to go on either Coral Hollow or Sourgrass. So far, it looks like Eric and maybe Erin will be going?
