So we have a club Fordyce run, but we've been busy to get it on the forum...as this started as a discussion during rovicon.
 
So last minute in a way. But you can still meet up!
 
Starting tonight camping at the first water crossing. Then see if we can make it through it Saturday or maybe end up Sunday.
 
Don and Tyler are arriving late tonight, so hit them up for a caravan in.
 
Others like Lutz, Scully, Jesse and Gus are navigating traffic now.
 
Plan for snow...it will be cold!

Chevron - 540 Newhall Dr #20, San Jose, CA 95110 Depart at 8:00AM Meeting Spot #2
Cloverdale Chevron - 1165 S Cloverdale Blvd, Cloverdale, CA 95425 Depart at 10:00-10:30 Arrival at Usal Beach around 1:30PM. Our last gas will be in Leggett (more expensive) or Laytonville.

just got back from visiting family in NY... gotta pack and plan to leave Wed morning to Needles... hotel overnight, arrive into Cottonwood Thursday afternoon. 

I am on a waiting list to see if I can get into the official camp site with the AZLRO peeps. I am a member of their group.
My overall plan is to leave Wednesday, 11/2 and camp somewhere near Needles. Then roll into Cottonwood mid-afternoon on the 3rd. After the Rally I am flying my wife into PHX so we can chill in Sedona for a few days. She wants to run Broken Arrow (!!).
Bringing the RRC for this one for comfort factor.

Pretty much packed. New plan is to leave early-ish... Tuesday, 11/1, and camp at Budweiser Spring, about 40 miles West of Goffs for (2) nights. Then power over to Cottonwood on Thursday morning. After the Rally, pick up wifey in PHX and cruise on up to Sedona to chill for a couple, then camp our way West homeward.
Yes, I am bringing my Rover V-8 "Rescue Kit:" Belts, cap & rotor, rescue tape, fuses, relays, bailing wire, heater core bypass hardware, chewing gum, etc...!

I finally figured out my schedule and I plan to go with the whole family. We’ll aim to start (very) early on Friday.
Let’s stay in touch about the early Friday convoy that Miles mentioned.
 
 

I would love to do this, but not sure i can pull this one off. 
I should clarify this is 4 days after returning from AZLRO Rally. But i do have that Friday off... hmm...

Well it was a success, we had 3 tags in total in our group and filled 2 of them. It was probably one of if not the toughest hunts iv done with 9 days total spent in the desert. We spotted over 100 doe and only 3 bucks and only 2 of them were worth taking. But to the fun part for this forum, the little range rover put in the work with about 1000 miles of dirt travel and no issues to speak of. We pinstriped the living hell out of it and got to run full heater in the cold mornings and full a/c in the afternoon. But for a 30 year old British truck beating around the desert I expected atleast some hiccup but none. It is exceptionally beautiful country out here and someday if people are interested I'd love to lead a few of us around to the hot springs and mines, but for now hopefully on the next camp out we will have some mule deer snacks. 

Wanted to do this for years, but November 11th is Veteran's Day.. As the town bagpiper, I am out. Plus, I will be recovering from the 2,000 mile AZLRO out and back trip to Sedona. Have fun!

We can probably make that work! Not sure what Mario has planned but I expect I might try and take 1 on the return trip. 101 on the way up.

I’d love to tag into the Convoy in the Geyserville or Cloverdale areas, assuming you madmen aren’t taking 1 all the way…. Yeah it’s “1” here in NorCal.
