  1. 2 New Episodes up TODAY!! And not just any set of episodes! We have the Timm Cast episodes which mean we pick Timm Coopers brain and talk about all kinds of rover stuff. Jeff a Rogers also joins myself and Gus and we chat about his upcoming series 1 build. Very interesting stuff. Listen to it twice. Too much to absorb in one sitting.
  2. That’s a recent patch. Only got those made last year
  3. We have a brand new 48 quart dual zone refrigerator. It’s a rugged design with anti shake and anti shock protection.
  4. New episode is out! Don and Michelle come to the studio and we talk about trails to do before summer is over amongst other rover and semi rover related topics. Like, subscribe, and rate to support our efforts to bring more quality content for our membership
  5. We have one new Lavabox portable propane fire pit for the raffle. Propane fire pits have become a necessity for summer camping in California. It has become automatic to employ fire restrictions on public lands and even many private campgrounds. Bringing a propane fire pit is the answer to the fire restrictions. This fire pit is compact and easy to pack, especially when compared to some of the more traditional circular models. On top of being easy to transport, it produces a large flame and is also nearly silent. Most other fire pits that produce large flames come with a noticeable, and sometimes annoying, hissing sound. After experiencing Andrew’s Lavabox on a camping trip this summer, I became a fan and am happy to see it in the raffle. As the kids would say, it’s FIRE!!
  6. We have a couple of UniJacks for the raffle. I have been proponent of the UniJack for years. I dont think there’s a better tool for lifting a tire off the ground on the trail. It has a wide and stable base that is ideal for trail terrain. It easily adjusts to different heights. It has a lockable jack built into it for safety. It makes tire changes and axle work very quick and simple. Usually makes much more sense than a HiLift for most trail repairs and is much safer than a traditional bottle jack.
  7. We will be having a raffle at this years Annual at Dinkey Creek Campground. This raffle will include new items like a traditional raffle most people are used to, but we will also be including the “swap meet raffle” along with it. The “Swap Meet Raffle” is a pretty simple concept. Members will be allowed to purchase raffle tickets per usual with tiered ticket pricing. Members will also be able to donate items, new and used, to the raffle in exchange for raffle tickets. This will be a good opportunity to get rid of some useful stuff you’re not currently using, help out another member who could use the items, and also get some raffle tickets and potentially win some items you could use. Plus the more good items in the raffle, the more fun the raffle is and maybe increase the tickets get sold for the club. Win - win - win - win!! I will be selling the tickets at the Annual and also exchanging swap meet items for tickets. So I will have to assess a value for the new or used item to give you a raffle ticket value. If you have any questionable item you considering donating, feel free to DM me first and we can figure out if the item is appropriate and predetermine a value. Bringing a screenshot or something documenting what your item generally sells for would also be helpful for me trying to figure out a value. Any large items that you don’t want to haul up can be donated by bringing a picture or some sort of representation instead of the physical item. So if you have a bumper or roof rack or even a set of wheels you want to donate, just print a few pictures and that should be good enough for the raffle. We tried out this style of raffle at last years Annual. It went really well and we got a lot of really nice items donated. So clean out that garage and find some stuff that’s collecting dust and taking up space. Please feel free to post up any items you plan on donating to the raffle. I will be posting some of the new items we have acquired for the raffle as well.
  8. We have the Rovicon Recap episode is out. Listen, enjoy… rate and subscribe. Please…
  9. The written rule is that non members can come to one MORG as non members. Doesn’t matter which MORG. The idea is to be able to experience a club outing to see if being a member is for them. That applies to all MORGs, but not other trips like the Annual. After that, a membership is technically required to continue to participate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I was toying around with some ideas for the September MORG. There were a couple trails I wanted to do (Swamp and Deer Valley), but they would not be accessible for stock and most IS vehicles. So in order to be more inclusive I decided that White Rock Lake would be a good option. There have been some expressed desire from members to revisit this trail and lake, plus September is usually going to be the warmest water you will get in these alpine lakes. I have not been to White Rock, so I am passing the buck to Robert Dingli to act as trail leader and organizer since he has visited the lake several times. Robert will post up more details soon, but here is some of the important info to help you plan: Dates : September 10-11 Where : White Rock Lake Type : Overnight and easy trail drive Vehicles : Any! Fun : Lots! Activities : fishing, boating, swimming, etc
  11. New episode out. Serge comes by and let’s us know how the August MORG went. Also his first time leading a MORG and first camping in roughly 25 years!!
  12. Finally replaced my leaking air locker piston. Got chunked out when my R&P went. Still sort of worked, but the compressor would keep kicking on and the axle housing would get pressurized. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I will be staying at campsite 84. Room for 2 vehicles at each site. I will have the one, so if someone can share the spot if they’d like.
  14. Wish I could make this trip, but have Rovicon prep to deal with. I have not run this trail yet. Looking forward to hearing about it. Maybe Serge can tell us about how it went on the podcast.
  15. Episode 6 is out. We talk to Gus and Don at the National Rally in Ouray.
  16. Flashing back to taking Greg and Jaimy on their first drives through Slick Rock in 2017. This is Greg driving up the staircase in his old D1. Back when this was the toughest obstacle on the trail. Jaimy did a great job getting through the trail with open diffs.
  17. High Lakes circa 2015 my old D2 with the old KO1 tires. Caught a lot of frogs that weekend.
  18. Thanks again to @Motobrewer for all the beer. A hefty supply of East Brothers certainly made for a happy camp! And don’t worry, Jason was only holding MY beer
  19. Great trip, thanks Mario! The Classic had its issues this trip, but we made it home without pulling out the AAA card. It was good to get out there and hang with friends and also meet some cool people for the first time. The wheeling highlight was definitely that steep hill we all had to conquer to get out of camp. It was pretty dang steep and covered with silt and undulating moguls dug out by spinning tires. Made for some fun spectating. Can’t wait to see all the videos of everybody going up.
  20. Here are some of the pics from the “spotted” segment of the last podcast episode. The first few pics are the 1991 County SE RRC from the movie “The Player”, complete with car phone and the original carfax 😉. The second set are of the Judge Dredd FC101.
  21. Just a heads up, I screwed the up the upload somehow. The original Pod got cutoff so I had to upload a “part 2”
  22. Episode 5 is out. Don and Robert come and join me in the studio. We talk a little about the Rally Rover engine issue and engine options, we have some repair hack tips, a fun new “spotted” segment, and Gustavo joins us with our fancy new “telephone” technology. Search for “NCLR After Dark” mode n Apple and Spotify. Please rate and review because it makes something good happen from what I’m told. 23. I am going to the MORG, but I won’t have room to haul wheels. I’ll have 2 people, 2 dogs, and camping gear. I’ll have to find some time to come down in my truck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I would be very happy if I could get a couple 4 packs of Bo Pils. Can I Venmo you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
