  1. I think Merlyn and I (and 2 dogs) are in! The classic runs and stops currently so I ought to take advantage and use it. Barring any unforeseen setbacks with the classic, we will be camping
  2. Happy Fourth! The RVRLNDR stops! Flushed the power steering fluid, bled the brakes, bled the power steering / hydroboost system, and voila! FullSizeRender.MOV
  3. Made an adapter for my power bleeder to work with my new Wilwood Master cylinder. Figure it’s worth it since my brake work doesn’t appear over and this will save me time.
  4. Did a chemical flush on the unstoppable classic’s cooling system. Get some decent sediment left over.
  5. Put in the new reman steering box. Painted the pitman orange for strength. New drag link and steering stabilizer bracket.
  6. Good to see some of the Bay Area folk today. Had 13 in our party before I had to be the first to leave. Not too bad for a Sunday. This was a just a few rovers that were able to park next to eachother today.
  7. I am a probably. Canceled my fishing plans, too hot on the water. Planning on driving the unstoppable classic. Merlyn should be with me.
  8. Episode 4 is out on Spotify and Apple. We are trying out a slightly different format. We will be having regular segments each episode. The me of those will be going over some of the more interesting forum posts. This episode we touch on the post asking about help with some direction on a D2 build. We also will be having a “club events” section where we will go over past and future events. We also will have a reoccurring “club news” section to go over any new stuff going on with the club. If anybody would like any other segments to be added, please free to DM me and we can try to work it in. This is a work in progress and we are trying to find ways to improve this thing as both Gustav and I have no previous experience and are figuring it all out on the fly. 9. Serves me right. I should have known better than to buy a vehicle from some sketchy dude in Walnut Grove. First warning sign was seeing a burnt up Land Rover sitting in the driveway. Second was unusually large supply of White Claws
  10. I bought it with the brake system already hacked up. It hasn’t worked since I have had it. It has hydroboost and had a Massey Ferguson MC and am unknown proportioning valve. It also had super corroded calipers and hard lines at the wheels. I have since changed out everything but the hydroboost Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I don’t have ABS, just a proportioning valve after the MC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Doesn’t stop well, slows down ok. Feels like I can’t get enough pressure on the brakes. The pedal isn’t hard to depress. I can push it to the floor and still don’t get much stopping power
  13. Installed a new master cylinder and proportioning valve. The only thing left if this doesn’t fix my braking issue would be the booster, but I don’t see how that could be the issue.
  14. Came across this pic today. Don’t remember what exactly was going on, but I don’t think I’ll do it this way again
  15. I’m going to try to get the RRC trail and road worthy. If I do, I’d prefer Corral Hollow. I do not like Hollister.

  17. Since I am not at Slick this weekend, figured I might as well do something productive with one of my Rovers. Finished the gauge install. Turned out pretty sweet. Total cost in parts ~ $240. Time should be a few hours. I had already had stuff apart so it didn’t take that long. IMG_0197.MOV
  18. Made it to Sunol. There was much traffic. It was very hot. The car started getting very hot. The brakes are not stopping as well as I would like. There is a decent oil leak coming from either the front main seal or the front of the oil pan. When I filled up the tank with gas, it leaked all over the place. I went back home. The RRC is not quite ready for prime time.
  19. A suggestion would be to leave a car parked or something Land Rover related near the turn off to camp. Something you can’t miss since it sounds like folks will be showing up after dusk Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Bought it April 2021. Didn’t actually go collect it till October
  21. Getting this thing ready for a trail this weekend. Added some shackle mounts to the front bumper. Open diffs and a non locking tcase means I need recovery points.
  22. If I make it up in time I can lead either trail. I’ve done both multiple times and probably makes more sense then trying the gauntlet in my RRC that doesn’t even have a locking transfer case and sitting on some old generic tires. It is not exactly a trustworthy rig at this point. I am planning on coming up Saturday morning, so maybe I can drop off my stuff at camp and then we can head out from there. Neither trail takes too long so we wouldn’t have to get out real early or anything. Corral Hollow would probably make more sense as it’s a bit longer and a loop. Sourgrass is an out and back and pretty short. It also can be annoying if we need to pass a group.
  23. Got the Classic off Non-Op and registered. Considering taking it to Slick this weekend. With this plate, I should really make to it next years Roverland event.
  24. Finally got around to putting my engine back together. Replaced the oil pump, water pump, and timing chain & sprockets. Also added an oil pressure and water temp gauge. The gauges were surprisingly easy to do. The water temp gauge just went on the top radiator hose. The oil presto sensor when on the timing chain cover in one of the plugged ports above the original Land Rover sensor which supports the oil light on the dash. I need to get longer wires, so the gauges are temporarily sitting on the dash but I wanted to keep a close eye on the oil pressure when I first started it up again so I hooked them up in their temporary state. So I need to still do some work, but I am relieved that the engine is running fine and I avoided any major damage with the failed oil pump. IMG_0085.MOV
