  1. Setting up new points and getting timing set but I keep getting interrupted by the inspector telling me everything iv done wrong.
  2. Not my rover, but my dads. We spent the day sapping in the rebuilt Salisbury axle, now just a million more things to do.
  3. Does anyone mind if we bring our dogs? And we made sure our Saturday is clear so we plan to be there in whatever Rover starts that day, hopefully one of them will. Looking forward to seeing everyone thanks.
  4. We probably won’t get a tree but we would love to bum over the hill and hang out with everyone if that’s ok. I’ll bring my chain saw to at least look the part.
  5. A friend of a friend had a friend who’s wife was fed up with the broke down cars in her yard, lucky for me my better half is ok with my horrible rover addiction. So over the weekend I was followed home by this little gem. She is definitely worse looking up close and the rats have chewed up the spark plug wires so the big question is does it become a parts bin then off to the scrap yard or get it going and see how many cheap mods can be thrown at it then see just how far the little Range Rover can be pushed up the trail. Any thoughts on which way to go? I’m open to other fun plans with it as well.
  6. . We’re always excited for rover stuff and did you get a replacement spare diff for the one we parted up on rubicon? If not iv got one you can have and some tail light covers.
  7. We are gonna try to make a run over the hill for this get together so if anyone is looking for series rover parts iv got a few things lying around I could bring over. If anyone with a p38 is wanting a callaway transfer iv got one of those too and as of recently no p38 to put it in. Thanks
  8. Great write up don it’s fun to read about some of the adventures of the other groups. One story to add on, once we got down to the staging area we began to air up and check over our 88 and see how unroadworthy it was, we said our goodbyes and headed up highway 89. We were on a sea of emotions happy we were going home to a shower but sad our time on the trail was over that’s when we came across Zach and his Cummins 88 on the side of the road just at the base of the hill up to emerald bay. The fuel filter had rattled apart over the trail and drained his fuel down to empty. We decided to strap it to the next fuel station so we stopped Tahoe traffic got hooked up and began to head up the hill. My series 2a 88 is definitely not a power house and Zacks 88 is a big heavy girl so we were a sight, 2 beat up rovers going way to slow up a road that I get nervous on just running by myself let alone with another truck strapped to me. But we’re series owners so with our never say die attitude we made it to the junction oh highway 50 and pulled into a gas station. We fueled up and proceeded to crack injection lines to get the truck fired up, at that point a guy in a mask not so politely warned us we were leaking fuel and with that dose of reality we parted ways to head back to “normal†life. Once again I can’t thank everyone involved in planning this trip enough, iv been on that trail dozens of times but I can say this was one of the best times iv had on the trail and as long as the event goes on and we are welcome to come we will be there.
  9. That’s an impressive break how’s the open diff working? Any bad gear noise on the drive home?
  10. Not deeply rovicon related but less then a week later and I think our kid wants to go back. He will sit in those rocks for hours pushing his trucks around and saying the word “stuck†so I guess that reflects on my driveing skill since he just copies me.
  11. We had a blast with everyone over the weekend, thanks again for everyone being so nice and inviting to us. Our truck has a few more love taps but I drove her to work on Monday. The quality and build level on everyone’s trucks is impressive and iv got a lot of ideas for next year. With any luck we’ll be built up a little better to hang with the big boys and we’re planning on doing any other runs with the club that we can. Once I figure out how to post up pictures I will and thanks again to everyone for a great time and a huge thanks to everyone involved in planning the event it’s very well put together we plan to attend ever year it’s on.
  12. my buddy and I ran it on July 4th weekend and when we got to the springs they gave us a speech on fire safety and as long as we had our fire permit they were ok with an open camp fire.
  13. It was nice virtually meeting some of you guys sorry I dropped out my phone lost signal and shortly after the dinner bell rang.
  14. In my mind your never experienced enough I definitely learn something new new every time I go out. But thank you all, some of my best memories as a kid are wheeling with my dad in his rovers and is no doubt why I have such a sickness for them. I’m hopeing my kid gets saddled with that same sickness and will spend all his time and money on rovers that way when Hes old he’ll understand why dad never got him that new toy or trip to Disney land, all the money was spent on the rover.
  15. . Oh for sure and he’s been through the rubicon a few times now and a couple runs in Moab he seems to really enjoy it, almost too much at times he will throw a fit if he doesn’t t get to sit in my lap and will try to pull my hands off the wheel so it’s only him steering. It was a bit of a learning curve when we first took him out but the better half and I got most of it figured out .......kinda. If the event is trying to be geared more towards adult only I can see if I can make arrangements to have him sit this run out.
  16. I’m not sure if this is where I should ask but do I need to pay for my son as a passenger? At the time of the trip he will be a few days past 2 years old so he doesn’t take up any room and I promise he drinks very little beer. Thanks again
  17. My truck was way too far apart when I learned about this run last year so I made me promise myself I wouldn’t miss it this year. So I joined NCLR as soon as the sign ups came on. Now I just need to keep the rover alive till then and hope I don’t make a fool of myself and slow you guys down on the trail. Not gonna lie I’m pretty damn excited for this can’t wait for August now.
