  1. Outfitted for camping can mean as simple as packing a tent. You don't really need much more.
  2. Since you’re driving a rover, at least couple of credit cards with high spending limits for gas. 😂 But seriously, besides the credit cards, extra fluid (oil, coolant, etc.) and snacks. my 3yo will be riding shotgun, so I’m sure that 400mi drive will be broken up into at least 3 stops.
  3. Truck isn’t ready and need time to work on it. Have to back out of this one.
  4. Here is my contribution to wet Wednesday! Hot off the trip this past weekend with Josh & Jake at the cursed Frank Raines.
  5. prob not to the expo, but likely interested in doing a trip to Oregon. I recall there was a discussion about doing a club trip up that way this coming year.
  6. We're looking to take our 2.5yo for his sledding trip. Any suggestions (which sno park?) do folks have experience and recommend? Looking to do this between xmas & new year. Also, open to making this a day (or 1/2 day) to catch up with club members.
  7. Hi Joling, Sorry to hear about the news and I hope you and your family are doing well. We missed you at the rally and hope to see you at the next event!
  8. just got back from visiting family in NY... gotta pack and plan to leave Wed morning to Needles... hotel overnight, arrive into Cottonwood Thursday afternoon.
  9. I would love to do this, but not sure i can pull this one off. I should clarify this is 4 days after returning from AZLRO Rally. But i do have that Friday off... hmm...
  10. Another great, organized event! The weather was milder compared to last year... so, made it much more enjoyable. And there was camp fire! Great to see familiar faces & meet new ones!
  11. For the AZLRO event, a handheld by itself is more than good enough for comm between veh in the convoy. I don't remember if the new Defender has aluminum roof... if so, magnet mount won't work.
  12. Yea I got a txt about the sites becoming available. Tho, I had to book the other camp site earlier since I didn’t want to worry about not having a camp site with a 2yo.
  13. @Joling Mew If you haven't already, I'd suggest getting your HAM license before this event. Most club outings & events use HAM radio for inter-veh communications. A technician license is relatively easy to study for & pass, and handheld radios can be had for about $20-30 on amazon. Here is an on-line resource to help with study: https://hamstudy.org/. Their practice test is really good as a readiness gauge for passing the actual test.
  14. I have that same jack. It's compact (size of a jack stand) and more importantly, safe! No need to carry jack & jack stand.
  15. I have 119. Right now, I plan to drive out Thursday and return sunday. These are long drives, esp in a 25yo truck & a 2yo kid.... so I may need to break the drives to & from over couple days. We'll see.
  16. want to share this info here first before posting to the AZLR comment section. @PaulD@Mffoster@Joling Mew - If you're up for roughing it at Cottonwood rally (instead of the hotels or wait for leftover volunteer campsites)... I reserved a campsite at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood. It is about 9min drive to center of Cottonwood and 7min walk to the Blazing M Ranch. There are a few sites left at the Blackhawk loop: https://azstateparks.com/reserve/#dead-horse/camping It's $63 for 3 nights (Thur - Sunday check out) for 1veh tent campsite.
  17. just registered me & Sebastian. Looking forward to this! Will see about organizing a caravan as we get closer.
  18. Is this same location as last year? i can’t reminder, same /similar days - trying to see if it’ll be too cold for wife to go/not.
  19. Yea, make sure you get that in writing from Theresa. And we can have Sebastian babysit your LO at the rally. It’ll be great!
  20. Not same weekend... why not do both! I'm sure your LO will love AZ in Nov... possibly more than LC in Nov.
  21. It looks like AZLRO is putting on a multi-day event in Cottonwood-Sedona early Nov. It's about 12hr-14hr drive from Bay Area. I'm checking if I can make this trip... https://www.azlro.org/5/azlro-events/rally-2022/
  22. Really wanted to make this, but my 2yo had a long overdue play date. Please post pix & stories! Now that he's more comfy in the 90... I anticipate we'll be going on more trips.
