Bummer. Did a number on my index finger and the cast will not be off until mid-May at the earliest.
So I am out. Please send any SWAG my way. And good thoughts.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Some (many?) of us in the club are fascinated by abandoned mines & ghost towns through out CA/NV. I came across this story and thought some here would enjoy it.
He's got a YT channel documenting life and grand plans to open a hotel & museum in this ghost town.
https://www.businessinsider.com/bought-california-ghost-town-cerro-gordo-lonely-found-life-purpose-2024-2"We've rebuilt the old elevator, but it still takes 45 minutes to get down to the 40-foot by 20-foot area where I'm staying while I wait out a snowstorm. It's warmer and quieter down here, and I can record my audiobook."

if there is big enough panel gap, you could just rinse the crevice out with a hose. It'll air dry and no rust.
IMO, that's way better than letting gunk & water collecting in there and you have no way to clear out.I totally get why you're concerned tho.

I don’t have exp with these… but have you raised your concerns and sent pix to lucky8? They should know whether this is normal and if debris ingress will be an issue. They’re in western NY and the city & state def use salt (extensively) during their 5 months of winter.

I believe Johann has on the calendar MNF trip coming up mid Nov.
I didn't see a post for it and I suspect Johann is still planning it out.So, I'm gonna help (not help?) by posting this to gauge interest.
I believe the club used to run a Mendo trip regularly. The last one was I think in 2017 or 2018, I lead with Robert, Miles, John, Rupert and maybe Daniel?
Weather was nice that some of us even went for a swim in Lake Pillsbury.Map pic for attention!

This was prob one of the more memorable MORG for me. Fantastic company, fun trails and explored trails and the area on a relaxing pace.
Thanks to Sacha & Mike for leading the trails for this trip.
Special thanks to all the doggies for keeping the bears 🐻 away while we slept!
We spent part of Saturday running Signal Peak in reverse. The Saturday afternoon was spent exploring near by trails. We came across a really nice campsite right on a slow moving river (water temp was 55°F). It has 2 big fire pits and a big serving/prep table! We hung out there for prob an hour. Eric, Mike, Sacha and the doggies went a dig and a swim in the river. We also had no less than 3 water crossings.
On Sunday morning, we relaxed by the camp fire and didn’t leave camp until about 11. We worked our way through a trail toward I-80, As we were airing up at a pull off, a person rolled up in an ATV and asked if we’re ok and that we’re on private property. It was only then did we noticed the private property- no trespassing sign on a telephone pole in front of where we stopped. Evidently, we unknowingly drove through some private property. The property wasn’t marked (as far as i can tell) on the trial and none of us noticed it on the various maps we were using. At least not until the guy on the atv showed it to Mike. Now we know, and knowing is half the battle!

I’m not aware of any Rover-specific shops in Fremont or that area of east bay. In general, you can do standard veh maintenance (oil changes, tires, etc.) through most shops. Then go with one of the shops you noted when it’s rover specific.
If you have questions about your LR4, I’d say post it here and I’m sure most of us are happy to give guidance. -
it'll try to make this...and likely solo trip for this one.

Rubicon for Daily Drivers!
I would be interested in this... though, def need to sort out the overheating at low/idle-speed issue first.

Hoping I can head out Friday morning to make the most of the trip.

Death Valley to be closed for months from the storm. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-09-03/death-valley-national-park-faces-months-of-storm-repairs

So, seeing what’s behind my 90 while backing up/reversing is marginal at best. This is esp problematic when it’s loaded with stuff.
So, I came across this dashcam & rearview cam setup and looks promising. I’m curious if anyone here has one or use one? Any thing to consider/watch for? -

The calendar link on the main page takes you to the forum index page.
I thought it would go to the calendar page. so, not sure if the url is wrong. -
There are a few “national” events hosted by different orgs. It’s hard to say which is which.
As for monthly MORG, check out the club event calendar for latest trips. -

We got home around 7:30PM.
So many shenanigans have ensued. I'll start working on a full writeup - for now I'll let the folks settle with a google photos album.
@Mr.BlueSky can you drop this link into original post so it's easier to find. Thanks!
