  1. Alright, as most of us know...NCLR club member and secretary John Foster will be moving out of bay area in November. All, most, many, alright.. some of us will miss him dearly. So, we are going to celebrate his move with a send off next Saturday, Nov 7th.

Miles has offered to host this send off party at this new compound in the santa cruz mountains. festivities will start at 11 (come earlier or later)... I think Miles has a grill to cook up some burger and hotdogs. Maybe he can find some chickens from his neighbors...who knows. Here is his address... 24900 Skyland Rd, Los Gatos

Hope to see you there! And especially you, John Foster!

  2. Hey Paul! It'll be a good reunion trip! Yea, married + a kiddo. It's been that long since we caught up!

I'm optimistic that i'll make this trip. fingers crossed!

    Hi All,

Just re-upped my membership so i am chiming in. If wife comes along we will bring the RRC. if not, I'll roll in the Perentie. If we get too many trucks, I would be happy to lead a group or run tail for a second group.Hello Chris Lithium...! You're married now?? With child...??? This will be my 3rd trip on the Mojave Road. I am going to try and do a solo trip in early December to re-locate my dad's memorial stone. it was "rescued" by a Mojave Preservation Society member thinking the NPS would remove it as they did (or were scheduled to) with all the gnomes at the mailbox.

    See ya,

  3. I run Mobil1 15w50.

It’s heavy weight, but synthetic runs even in cold.

That said, I use it bc of higher zinc content that’s typically recommended for these older rover engine designs.

That and these engines usually run hot and benefit from the 50 weight.

I buy these by the 5qt jugs when they have sale and rebates on them.

I think they work out to maybe $4/qt some times.

  4. Welcome to NCLR and hopefully the evenings aren't too cold for ya! :D

@DHapple has a LR3 with an ARB bumper fitted. So, he should be able to give you the highlights and low lights.

I recall he installed the bumper himself, so not sure if he has a shop to recommend.

I'm sure Tim Scully at Scully Offroad can do install for you. He is/was a club member... and a lot of folks here, esp those towards north bay & sac, go to him.

    Good luck!
