jaimymac reacted to Jethro in 1964 Series IIa - Build
Some additional progress last night, had the kids in the garage helping me too which was great...getting to learn the struggle.
We mounted the transmission to the engine and now get to connect the transfer case.

Installed a Gobi rack. It took 7 months wait but its worth it. Just need to decide roof light setup.

Installed a new master cylinder and proportioning valve. The only thing left if this doesn’t fix my braking issue would be the booster, but I don’t see how that could be the issue.

Finally got around to putting my engine back together. Replaced the oil pump, water pump, and timing chain & sprockets. Also added an oil pressure and water temp gauge. The gauges were surprisingly easy to do. The water temp gauge just went on the top radiator hose. The oil presto sensor when on the timing chain cover in one of the plugged ports above the original Land Rover sensor which supports the oil light on the dash. I need to get longer wires, so the gauges are temporarily sitting on the dash but I wanted to keep a close eye on the oil pressure when I first started it up again so I hooked them up in their temporary state. So I need to still do some work, but I am relieved that the engine is running fine and I avoided any major damage with the failed oil pump.

Getting this thing ready for a trail this weekend. Added some shackle mounts to the front bumper. Open diffs and a non locking tcase means I need recovery points.

Got the Classic off Non-Op and registered. Considering taking it to Slick this weekend. With this plate, I should really make to it next years Roverland event.

This past week I had a new A-frame installed from Adrenaline 4x4 (with new bushings), got my heating vents sorted, new wiper motor, and some other random bits....

Not a rover, but it’s something worth looking at. This has been cruising around my area since the late 90’s.

jaimymac reacted to Tyler Mattson in Rovicon 3!
I'm close to wetting myself with excitement, Julia and I took Thursday off so the plan is to head up Thursday mid day and hang out at loon but if we're honest I'll be spending Thursday frantically fixing things trying to leave and get up there Thursday evening. Either way we're exited and can't wait to see everyone. -

So freshen up the beadlocks with some paint and installed the apex valve stems.
All the new parts arrived so it’s time to finish off the RRC and get it on the trail soon!

I got inspired at rovicon and decided I wanted the raised bumper ends like nicks new to him 109 but turns out id have to sell my kid to afford the pangolin one. So I started cutting up mine and fabbing one and it turns out it took 4 beers to do the driver side and an additional 4 to mabey more to do the passenger so just don't look to hard at that side. -
