Mojave Road 2021

Recommended Posts

Due to an abundance of enthusiasm, there might be a couple (2) additional "rogue" participants tagging along on this trip. i am making arrangements for them to follow their own path, leaving AFTER Nick's 0900 Group. They are all Land-Rover owners from out of NCLR territory.

Hi All,

Just booked a room yesterday for a rogue friend at the Avi Casino for Thursday, 1/7/20... Plenty of rooms left at $46 per night...!

Merry Christmas,

Paul

How far are the rooms from where you park?

The rooms are a fair distance... I'd say a couple hundred yards from hotel bed to parking lot. Lock everything or sleep in your truck if you are jiggy about it. In 2017 i parked my RRC next to 2 sweet and built Tacoma's with no issues.

So yes I screwed up lol.. I ended up finding it for 46! Since I'll have my son I decided to just do the hotel so I dont have to wake him so early on Friday. Anyone know if there is a place in Laughlin that sells good mortars like they do in Pahrump?

Getting Psyched...?!? My thoughts on fuel: You can never have enough...! Peace of mind for me personally... If you have the room, i would bring plenty of extra gas or diesel just to keep from being limited. On both of my previous trips on this route, people had to bail out to civilization to go secure more fuel (gas)... oh, and we had an RRC that was overheating.

The weather at this point looks cold and dry. But that could change..

Looking FWD to it...!

I'll have propane! Might even bring the awning walls in case we want to sit inside and heat it. Im good for 500 miles to a tank of diesel! Yes getting psyched. My clutch is fixed too!

I've been trying to figure out how to make this work and I just don't have enough PTO to get down there and back Monday unfortunately...hopefully I can make the next one as I have been wanting to see the lava tubes and spooky canyon for a while.  Bummed.

Take lot's of pictures and we'll create a group on our club google account so we can post the pictures from the trip.

Cheers!

Okay Guys & Gals... The Rogue tag-alongs are out...Whew! Makes logistics a LOT easier. Meanwhile, the weather might be getting more "interesting." We had snow on the Lanfair plain last year at this time, and we might have some on this run. Will have to track the Soda Lake precipitation situation as well.

I am running out to pre-run the 1st 80 miles early next week and will report in to master leader Lutzi by cell phone.

Stay tuned!

If we get weather it will just make it more memorable! If we get another rig with an awning we can park them awning to awning and make a nice dry area. I did that with tiger dan once and it work out great.
