Ha ha, fixed it for you... I got food to eat that's already paid for so I'll be there Saturday at least, $100 gas bill for $25 in food must be the company there that's worth it...

You will find out:p

I was on the fence as to go or not go and have already decided not to bring my LWB for fear it may go home on a trailer! am riding up in Arthur's 63 109 V8

1:30 am, just got home from the shop. What a pain this has been, can't rule out sabotage. 2 quarts of water, mud, and grit in the gearbox. No gear oil in the rear diff, bone dry. Tracta joints bone dry too, that probably leaked out. 2 quarts of mud there is no explanation for. More later on that, have to pack and get the old boy on the trailer tomorrow morning. He's got no registration, and today was a furlough day at the DMV, I forgot! Oh well, the master brake cylinder is going out and I've got no seat belts anyway, I'll drive him there next year. Thanks for the bag offer, haven't even looked for mine. Have some cheapo summer weight bags, might have to double or triple them up. Shower, then bed, hope I wake up in the am not in the pm.

Wake up time Eric (ring ring can you hear the alarm ring) - glad to hear you are coming.

Also folks - Mike needs a few volunteers to help serve dinner tonight around 6:30pm followed by the raffle after dinner and show (Kevin is brining the projector).

2-3 people will do; priviledge - you get to eat early, and be done with dinner. When 6:30pm comes around, you have eater and just have your fav drink on hand (soda pop or beer) and just help Mike get dinner serviced for the rest of the club members and guest. Go see Mike (astateofmike) before 5:30pm and let him know you can help; thanks!

And between dinner and the raffle, Jim wants to have the mike and talk about Treading Lightly.

If Will decides to do the recovery training this afternoon or Sunday morning - we have Brenton and Mark aka GriffSC as the volunteer recovery Vehicle, and the vehicle to recovery (right?)

See you all there!

Seems like there's a good turnout this year and possibly some new members. Hope you're all having a blast at HH. Sorry I missed it, but I'm already choreographing a fire/pole dance with Sas & Griff making a cameo appearance for next year. lol

Thanks to everyone who came out this weekend to make our fourth NCLR Annual Event a great success. A special thanks to Mike and Ron for their hard work!

Having fought my way through the HMB pumpkin buyers I made it home about noon and have the truck unloaded and am working on the pictures. Here is a picture of most, but not all of the rigs attending the event.

More to come ...

I took no pictures. I was either:

A: driving my Rover with a $*#t eating grin.

B: talking about my Rover with a $*#t eating grin

C: stuffing my face with beans, steak, and potato salad

D: drinking a beer

E: drinking Will's Oban scotch whiskey or Dave's Gentlemen's Jack

I had a great time, met a ton of new folks a reconnected with old friends. Viva NCLR!!!

Many thanks to the guys who hold the whole thing together - Mike, Ron, Will, et al. A pleasure to see a big turnout and the CTs (and Phil's C303, of course). Was about the kids this year for me and I rather enjoyed the experience.

Good to see some old faces and meet some new ones. Enjoyed "meeting" Hancock finally as well.

The campfire banter was solid as usual, even better after Pita Esteban Neighbors departed his seat. And it was a sincere pleasure watching you guys get stewed.

Oh, and to our absentee member, Jen, who cleaned house at the raffle, I hope you know the rest of us will not allow a repeat performance next year! ;)

I had a wonderful time. It was great putting a few names to faces. And seeing the old regulars again.

Thanks Mark. It was a pleasure for me to put the raffle prizes together; talking to vendors in prep for the raffle (also good to see members like Kevin helping solicit vendors - more help more prizes) and seeing the face(s) of the winning ticket holders. Will have to see Jen's face when she returns from her biz trip and claims her winning prizes. And yes, Jen cleaned house; but I think she has to claim the price on top of Truck Hill (j/k).

Congrats to all raffle winners (will have to mail the ones we didn't have certs for), and for everyone who bought raffle tickets.

We made over $1100; money goes towards paying for club insurance, etc... among others that take to run the club.

I am hoping that we have enough funds to sub-sedize part of (makes it affordable to members) next year proposed "Lost in the Wilderness - Staying Safe Until Help Arrives" clinic for families/and their young ones http://nclrclub.org/forum/showthread.php?1060-Survival-Schools&p=12951#post12951; big benefits to members and our family.

Let's do this again next year; good weather again (vs last year), good turn-out like this year, and excellent vendor donations.

Here are pictures I took: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=84938&id=1029356688&l=dfe287e8e4

Cheers!

I have to include the Prank of the Weekend. While PETA (Steve) was well on his way to getting sauced Saturday night, I took advantage of his projected lack of reasoning skills. Our campsite was next to Steve. We sleep in the LR3 and Steve's tent was close by. I tied a small diameter rope to the top of his tent poles at the "X" point and ran the rope over to my rig and into the cabin. I kicked leaves on top of the rope so he he wouldn't see the rope. Trap is set. Forward to PETA being hammered. Forward to PETA passing out in the tent. Forward to 4am. I started pulling hard on the rope which shook the heck out of his tent. We heard a bunch of muffled, drunken "Whut? Whooze zat? Whooze there?" I almost died laughing!!! I'd let it rest for a minute then start yanking again. This went on for about 15 minutes. He started slapping at the inside tent walls to "scare off" any carnivorous critters. I'd keep pulling the rope and he's keep slapping the tent! Finally he turned his flashlight on to scare the creatures away. I'd stop. Wait for the light to turn off then start all over again. At this point, tears of laughter were streaming down my face. He finally started to unzip the tent and poke his flashlight out. I kept hearing zippers opening and closing and lights turning off and on. Hollister's first Rave party! Sasquatch (1) - PETA (0)!!

my story then.funny LR sighting.

Driving north on 101 near Morgan Hill, I see a white D110 in front of me in the distance. Unsure, I step on it (AS MUCH AS I CAN) with Suz in the LWB right behind......move to the left lane and see the whale tail plate "EXPLORS" on the back...so here I am fully loaded with a LWB on my tail and we creep past the D110 to wave.....7 people in that truck with no AC (my windows are up, fans cold and on) and I wave.

NOTHING

NOTHING AT ALL.....

I drive on, Suz pulls up and waves...

NOTHING. Wonder if the mystery of the D110 is broken by the jealousy of working AC?

we motored past and headed for lunch......
