  1. Bring the back up mobile! The Range Rover Sport! 🍻 Now I have to make it! 🍻
  2. Lol I still have one Land Rover (downsized from 4 at one point) but will be driving my empty nester 2 seater Porsche if I make it to this event! 😁 🍻
  3. I have not been active. Been busy with work and getting my boys in their respected colleges in the last 4 years: one is graduating this May, and the youngest is wrapping up his freshman year. All good and now an empty nester. Might be able to swing by. Looking forward to catching up! 🚘 🤗
  4. Long time no post! I am interested Lutz! My 2nd home is in Vegas and stay there part-time, and the other time in the Bay Area! Hope to time it that I will be in Vegas! 🤗
  5. Hello! Long time no post for me! This would be a good trip, and then break-away & head to Vegas for me and my co-pilot! Put me in the interested category!
  6. Sounds great! I already made plans for Spring Break but looking forward to reading trip reports for this year and interested in attending next year!
  7. Thanks for hosting Paul! Good to see Chris and the others! Looking forward to joining a few trips next year 2022! I picked a few for the 49ers game tomorrow!
  8. Yay for the 18th. Hmm... bring the Porsche or Land Rover. Ok this is a LR event. Lol. The D2!
  9. Let's do it! Any Sat or Sun in December works for me!
  10. Are you all thinking this coming Sunday 11/28?
  11. Hey Chris, I know what you mean. Lol. I was in your shoes many moons ago with two kids, and trying to get them ready for camping or any 4x4 club events, and comfortable during the trip and at the events. From infant to toddler to grade school level, I dragged my kids to these events and they had fun (eventually). It's a test of patience and understanding for sure. Now both of my kids are grown-up (one a sophomore college, and the other college in less than 2 years). You will be at your kids pace of travel so no worries. I will just meet you and your family @ Shaver Lake! Do you have a camp site already? Is there space in your campsite for DII w/RTT? Thanks!
  12. Hopefully it's not too late for me to join this event/party. Let me know. If work doesn't get in the way, There's a 50% chance of me making it to this event. I have a 2004 DII w/2" lift, recovery points both front and back, HD rear bumper, HD steering rod, ham radio, no winch. Some experience off-roading! I'll be leaving the Bay Area early morning Saturday (6 hr drive) and then will shoot to join the organized trail run. What's the est start time for the trail runs (for easy or med rated)? Anyone leaving the Bay Area Saturday morning and wants to caravan - let me know. Also I have a roof top tent (small foot print) and just need a Saturday night stay, participate in the $$ raffle, and then leave after bfast Sunday or another trail run. Anyone want to share their spot (one vehicle parking w/roof top tent)? I'll just pay my share! And I'll be using my jetboil to make coffee for myself Sunday morning (and anyone else who wants one) which I am assuming does not need a permit! Cheers!
  13. Me too. I have not been on any events (just been busy like most of you) so looking forward to the annual (if it happen to pull it off). Thanks!
  14. Do you miss the exhaust note from your old 911? Rented one via Turo. Really liked it; great tech and a different fast, but I am missing the sound from my Cayman S!
  15. Wow 997.2 GT3. Mus be hard to stay @ 75 mph The 991t and 964 c2 look great as well!
  16. Lol I find my 987 Cayman S has been reliable so far (much more so than my 04 D2). But I can't take it beyond the trail parking lot.
  17. Nice Chris! Twin of my Cayman S except yours is a convertible. Want to hear the mods you've put in. We should do a Land Rover or Porsche (you pick the car to drive lol) coffee meet-up!
  18. Sweet! Nice C4S Will! Wait! Let me edit mine. I forgot the S on mine. Worth the extra phonies!
  19. What do you have? Here's mine 987 Cayman S manual 6 speed. I belong to a Bay Area Porsche driving group and there's a trip scheduled on April 24th the starts in Pleasanton to Yosemite. Anyone interested? On the Land Rover, I am planning a trip to the Lost Coast in May. I need to check w/the local park ranger(s) and ask if the Usal Road to the Beach will be open (depending on road conditions after winter break, etc..). I am bringing my D2.
  20. Worked on Windows this Weekend! WWW! I needed to replace the Right Rear Passenger, and Left Driver window regulators and motors. The parts that I ordered came in from Atlantic British on Friday. It's about time to replace them especially the driver's side; the window was stuck closed, and I had to open the door each time that I went to the drive-thru. Lame on my part not fixing it sooner. What a pain! Lol! No more after this weekend! Started working on the right rear passenger first Saturday, and then finished the driver's side today. Popped open each door cover, removed the old regulator along with the motor. Pretty easy to do; lots of maneuvering to get the old ones out and in with the new ones. The only short delay was a trip to the my local hardware store I needed to get new wiring connectors. The connectors for the new motors are not compatible with my old motors. Also I ended up using new seaming tape; I like it better than duct tape that leaves sticky residue! And the driver's side map holder was filthy. While I have the door panels off, I washed and cleaned them! Here are some photos of my work from this weekend! https://photos.app.goo.gl/RWpNjHChdnK9aRri6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/Dc9B1K5RZkMdosZKA https://photos.app.goo.gl/tAmS8x7cuUNbZ3Nv7 https://photos.app.goo.gl/9fpesNEesghktuRN9 https://photos.app.goo.gl/QYWYdSzoJVPfGuuL9 Time to go wheeling and camping!
  21. The problem turned out to be a timing chain cover gasket leak. Sucks! I didn't want to take any chances so I had it towed to a friend's shop. A friend mechanic took care of the repair plus while at it I asked to put a new timing chain cover (aka oil pump). Anyways, fast forward from a week ago, I have the D2 back and now ready for the snow! I am thinking Lost Coast in the Spring: Lost Coast Trail | Bureau of Land Management (blm.gov)
  22. Twice! Lol. And it's looking good and glad you are putting it to work! Awesome!
  23. Don, thanks for the suggestions. Paul, thank you for the offer. I had good intension of checking out the leak yesterday or today, but work got in the work. Let me check out what's causing the leak; if turns out to be the water pump, I will let you know. And I used to have a 1990 RRC (now sold) and I might still have some left over parts; let me dig in the garage and if I have anything you may need, glad to pay forward parts for the generous offer. Thanks again!
