  1. Nice Chris! Twin of my Cayman S except yours is a convertible. Want to hear the mods you've put in. We should do a Land Rover or Porsche (you pick the car to drive lol) coffee meet-up!
  2. Sweet! Nice C4S Will! Wait! Let me edit mine. I forgot the S on mine. Worth the extra phonies!
  3. What do you have? Here's mine 987 Cayman S manual 6 speed. I belong to a Bay Area Porsche driving group and there's a trip scheduled on April 24th the starts in Pleasanton to Yosemite. Anyone interested? On the Land Rover, I am planning a trip to the Lost Coast in May. I need to check w/the local park ranger(s) and ask if the Usal Road to the Beach will be open (depending on road conditions after winter break, etc..). I am bringing my D2.
  4. Worked on Windows this Weekend! WWW! I needed to replace the Right Rear Passenger, and Left Driver window regulators and motors. The parts that I ordered came in from Atlantic British on Friday. It's about time to replace them especially the driver's side; the window was stuck closed, and I had to open the door each time that I went to the drive-thru. Lame on my part not fixing it sooner. What a pain! Lol! No more after this weekend! Started working on the right rear passenger first Saturday, and then finished the driver's side today. Popped open each door cover, removed the old regulator along with the motor. Pretty easy to do; lots of maneuvering to get the old ones out and in with the new ones. The only short delay was a trip to the my local hardware store I needed to get new wiring connectors. The connectors for the new motors are not compatible with my old motors. Also I ended up using new seaming tape; I like it better than duct tape that leaves sticky residue! And the driver's side map holder was filthy. While I have the door panels off, I washed and cleaned them! Here are some photos of my work from this weekend! https://photos.app.goo.gl/RWpNjHChdnK9aRri6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/Dc9B1K5RZkMdosZKA https://photos.app.goo.gl/tAmS8x7cuUNbZ3Nv7 https://photos.app.goo.gl/9fpesNEesghktuRN9 https://photos.app.goo.gl/QYWYdSzoJVPfGuuL9 Time to go wheeling and camping!
  5. The problem turned out to be a timing chain cover gasket leak. Sucks! I didn't want to take any chances so I had it towed to a friend's shop. A friend mechanic took care of the repair plus while at it I asked to put a new timing chain cover (aka oil pump). Anyways, fast forward from a week ago, I have the D2 back and now ready for the snow! I am thinking Lost Coast in the Spring: Lost Coast Trail | Bureau of Land Management (blm.gov)
  6. Twice! Lol. And it's looking good and glad you are putting it to work! Awesome!
  7. Don, thanks for the suggestions. Paul, thank you for the offer. I had good intension of checking out the leak yesterday or today, but work got in the work. Let me check out what's causing the leak; if turns out to be the water pump, I will let you know. And I used to have a 1990 RRC (now sold) and I might still have some left over parts; let me dig in the garage and if I have anything you may need, glad to pay forward parts for the generous offer. Thanks again!
  8. Hello Folks, Anyone with experience w/the Atlantic British's water pump for $79.95 vs OEM $149.95: Engine Cooling - Water Pumps, For Discovery Series II (roverparts.com) I bought parts from AB before but not their branded water pump. It's for my 04 D2. I have to check it out closer tomorrow when there's day light; it could also be the thermostat and leaky hoses. I got back from a short drive tonight, saw coolant leaking dripping under the drive belt area, and suspect it might be the water pump. Thanks!
  9. My son is saving up for a new mountain bike, and wanted to earn some $$. He offered to wash, and clean the interior particularly the dash & center console on my 04 D2. Dirty from not being cleaned for years, and making a mess e.g. hot cocoa for the kids, and coffee for me using Jet Boil sitting on the cup holder. While he was doing that, I decided to replace the worn out boot on the diff shifter with a home made one. Walla almost looking new. Now time to replace the boot on the parking brake.
  10. If I had If I had known guests included the Beastie Boys, I would have made it. Lol. Perhaps see some of you @ the East Brothers Beer Co on the 18th.
  11. I am rover-less till mid Oct (my D2 is in the shop) so if I show up in a Jeep Gladiator, no hecklers please. Jokes aside, hope to make it. I may have stuff to sell and will post on the other thread stuff for sale.
  12. Lol David, you know you want that 04 DII. We can be twins; two 04 DIIs going back to Baja! Great place to do some social distancing, and plenty of Coronas (beer that is)!
  13. Dan, good to hear! If you are in the area where I live and need parts for your LR3/LR4 projects, I have a bunch of spare or replacement parts that you can have; from brand new rear disc breaks, pads, etc... I don't have my LR3 anymore; I am a one Land Rover owner guy now. Lol. Till I see another!
  14. Hey there Dan; all is well here; I am weathering the storm fine; how about you? Working on any projects e.g. Land Rover related or music venue(s)? Or has the pandemic impacted all of that for you? Hope all is well with you! Good to hear from you!
  15. Well helllo folks; hope all is well; my kids and I are! I am adjusting to WFH, and just have to do some social distancing from my refrigerator lol And I got rid of my LR3 (only a one Land Rover guy here); feels good to have minimized my fleet! Anyways, I will be posting for sale stuff from the LR3 and misc stuff. Be safe, healthy and positive!
  16. And if you are planning a DV trip next year, and want to end up in Vegas after, check out the BF sale for MGM hotels: https://www.mgmresorts.com/en/offers/black-friday-vegas-2019.html?icid=DMP_FWR_BB_HO_SPO_BFCM_AL_MGMRI_112519
  17. On paper, it's only a tie down, but it can support 2x the LR3s GVW. I probably wouldn't use it for kinetic recovery but I've seen it a few times @ Pismo where it was used for being recovered via winch or static recovery strap, and have not seen it come apart. Anyone here experience the front recovery loop on their LR3 fail? Didn't think so! Speaking of Pismo, any interested in a wknd trip in Sept?
  18. Hi Paul, I didn't get the PM; you csn also call me at 415-265-0676; thanks!
  19. Jen, Roz and I want to know if you are still having your baby sitter watch you boys @ the tech museum tomorrow; our baby sitter (Roz's cousin) is telling us that she may not be able to do it due to changes in her work schedule (she is a nurse and being asked to come in for work). Let us know - we want to have a back-up plan. Otherwise, no worries.
  20. Sounds good Rupert; if we post in the members only, only members can see it and need to log-in; I am thinkinng if we need to do some PR, get sponsors.... should put it in the public General Events and Trip Discussions (Public) sub-forum. Let me know if you need any help. Not an NCLR trip, might drive to Vancouver this summer with my family (vacation) just to test the waters w/getting my son used to the long drive. C yah!
