  1. Depending on timing... since Snowflake missed the Rovicon... might be able to make this. Though at some point, someone is bound to notice I'm on trail or fixing rovers more than I'm in the office : /
  2. Thanks everyone for making another great annual! Please find here the Club photos album. https://photos.app.goo.gl/8Kvhpc7v33AEjjQT9
  3. Just got in to Golden Pines. when you roll in stop by the front office for a vehicle hang tag. Just let them know you are with the rover group. You’ve already been checked in. Bears have been a bit of a problem, so food/coolers/fridges need to stay in vehicles overnight. Trash has to be in the bin by 6pm before they do rounds and collect it. Fires out by 10pm. The communal campfire will be held at site 114 to help keep audible space between the RV park folks and our group. see everyone soon!
  4. They haven't updated their online side yet - but it likely will show up here. https://blog.roversnorth.com/current-issue/ Overall they stayed true to my write-up, a few creative licenses were taken here and there... and I saw they had some misspellings. Cie la vie
  5. Spotted in downtown Campbell last night. Anyone we know?
  6. I think we will probably try to leave Friday morning - happy to help organize a caravan if folks want.
  7. Corral Hollow is seeming pretty popular on the Annual registration poll so I expect this one to be run.
  8. Cris stopped by last weekend and we got his awning bolted up. He also helped throw some firring strips down on the barn... which may very likely will be stuffed with rovers and or rover projects in the future. Now to find some roll doors....
  9. We will be doing a chili cookoff again this year! I will post the Annual Details this weekend. (In between roofing the barn and doing some welding for Cris ; ).... gotta do my chores too.
  10. That's like today... Unfortunately I'm not Santa :"(
  11. The Rivian did really well. Granted, the most technical bit was the last bit down to the lake. (Sparsely scattered small boulders). Really nothing of a challenge at all. The R1T had plenty of ground clearance and almost double that of Snowflake's-diff-to-ground. Trip from Truckee to White Rock takes about 45-60 minutes depending on how fast you take the washboards. We entered from Truckee and exited through Bowman, with the regenerative braking, Dan only consumed 7% of the pack capacity. In contrast, Snowflake sucked down 25% of a tank of fuel. So the Classic was once again more range limited than an EV.
  12. Will keep a look out! Does he have a timeline?
  13. Post has been moved. Marked our calendar! We should be able to make it on the weekend of October 21/22 - is anyone planning on camping?
  14. I picked up an el-cheap many moons ago for snowflake but ended up pulling it out due to lack of use. It had it's own external monitor - I prefer the integration into the rearview mirror for sure for the backup cam.
  15. Sorry for the delay - here is a link to share the photos from White Rock Lake! https://photos.app.goo.gl/ATLqJ8ocBBXoNNSQ9
  16. No rain at the campsite, though there was some sprinkles but nothing substantial
  17. Interested! Paul, are you OK if I move this thread to a public facing section of the forum? In case any tentative members want to check us out?
  18. Well. Wife did not work out in our favor, so we will now be hitting Truckee right around 5 to 530
  19. We are leaving now based on fuel stops I expect to hit Truckee around 330 to 4
  20. Yeah, let’s plan on this. With the Friday start folks are a bit scattered. Once we hit the road I’ll give an update on when we expect to hit Truckee.
  21. Alrighty! We are packing and getting ready to go! Managed to get the rear driveshaft changed out last night and the refurbished radiator in (original radiator began leaking again on the way back from Oregon). Not sure yet if we will manage to get the grill packed yet... : (. Hopefully we will be hitting the road around 12 noon tomorrow. Later than I had hoped, but c'est la vie
  22. I figured the same - I short circuited the shirt directly to the garage... what a joy! I've been running out of rag shirts. : -0
  23. Good news everyone! White Rock Lake is Open. I spoke to a very nice Maggie at the Truckee Ranger Station. She said that it technically isn't closed. They use the website status as a deterrent for less prepared folks that don't have the resources to get there. Right now, we should expect deep mudholes, rutted out roads, and possibly some snow. So nothing we haven't tackled before ; ).
