All Terrain Vs Snow Tire for LR4

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am trying to choose between All Terrain (maybe Falken Wildpeak with 3P snow rating) and Snow tires (maybe Michelin X-Ice or Blizzak DMV2).

I live in Fremont and my 2016 LR4 Landmark came with Firestone LE3.
The use case for these A/T or Snow tires will be for 2-3 trips upto Sierra (tahoe/yosemite/or some resort) every winter.

I am more inclined towards the A/T since I think I can just use it through the Winter even in East bay.  I believe the actual Snowtires need to be swapped out in conditions with Temp > 50F..it will be a hassle to swap it out after every trip in the winter.

Any thoughts on this especially if the A/T is good enough for Sierra winter?

Thanks,

sarath

Hey! I have run the Falken wildpeak A/T3W on my RRS for a while now and love them. They make them in a lot of different sizes as well as not being super expensive. I've had them on all sorts of conditions from sand, wet roads and snowy trails with zero issues.

I've just bought the Falkens, looking forward to using from DD to mild off road.
