Scarcity of LR3 parts

Got any '06-'09 Range Rover sports lying around ? 

but to answer the question on LR3 versus Disco 2 - - LR3 was first one designed under the Ford regime - so quality & manufacturing quality  went up dramatically over the older Disco 1/2 designs .. Jag based 4.4 engines are pretty bullet proof - ZF 6 speed should be good for 150K+ if you change fluid at 75K, Alternator is Denso (doesn't get much better than that - well mine failed at 100K, but same on my BMW) , Air Suspension was pretty reliable ... etc. etc. 

 

What broke on yours that you need part from Junk Yard for ?

That's good - you only need trims.  So far my LR3 (major exp) were new fuel injectors (suspect prev owner didn't use prem grade fuel) needed @160k, new alternator and compressor @ 180k miles.  Currently has 200k so far so good; running well.
