I am offering to be a "fuel mule" with my roof rack dedicated to carrying about 24 gallons for those that need it.

I am going to attempt a 6:05-hour trip to the hotel in Laughlin. I think some of you may have my cell number. Ping me if you need help.

Oil is changed, just need to pack & drive. Due to the cold temps bringing standard cooler. No need for an ARB!

Have spares on-board for Rover V-8's (Classics and older Disco's).

Sounds good.  I'll be meeting at the Santa Nella stop as it's right on my way down.  BTW, what is the estimated mileage on the road anyway?  I need to figure out my fuel situation.

(Or I could look at the Mojave Rd book I bought, but that requires effort on my part...:) )

well, my aux fuel tank pump has no power.

Hopefully, it's a loose wiring and easy fix. But won't be able to dig into it until Sunday.

Worse case, I will manual-pumped extra fuel from aux tank into main tank on the roadside.

BTW, we're planning to drive back up Sunday morning?

Lol! This is what happens when you get older and don't use the aux tank often - you forget location of the pump switch!

Good news is that pump works great with the switch -once I found it.

Better news, spent 30min checking wiring & cleaning up contacts for said pump. So, it's even more perfect now. :D

Yay Lutzi...!

See you guys in the AM of the 29th. Spending the night @ Avi Casino -- $49.95/night.

Hooray Lutzi!

Paul, $50/night???  I think some campgrounds are nearly that much!

I'm bringing the required 3 bundles of firewood. Hope collectively we all have enough kindling & fire starter to get a good series of fires going...!

And glad to see Lutzi is rallying for this one!

BTW, do we know if there are placing to pick up wood on-way, or have to buy locally & bring down?

CA state and National Parks often ask ppl to buy/burn wood from near/around the park area - to avoid introducing bugs from outside the park region.

It's the desert, not too much to worry about burning or bringing bugs in with out of area wood. Bring more wood than you think you'll need. It can get really cold out there this time of year.

Word to the wise, there's a Safeway with a fuel station just on the other side of the Colorado River from the Avi Casino on Aztec Rd in Fort Mohave, AZ. Gas was cheaper there than at the reservation/casino fuel station. Save your Safeway/Vons fuel points for some extra savings, last time I was there I was able to get a buck a gallon off. It was really nice since gas was around 4.50 a gallon in LA at the time.
