Running into lots of traffic and starting to get leg cramps so I pulled over to take a break and have a beer(for the leg cramps) I should arrive in Truckee around 3-3:30 and at the lake 4-4:30

I'm driving by Livermore on my home to Fremont Sunday. I could drop them off on my way or he could come by my house to pick them up.

Sounds like a awesome drive to the lake and it probably won't be very crowded. I should arrive there around noon on Friday.

Maybe we could move it out 3-4 weeks so we have time to get new camping reservations and the trail will have less snow and water on it?

A friend of mine said that he ran the sourgrass trail. There is a pretty nice campground at the end of the trail, ot so I have heard. Unless things have changed it should be open. It's a easy trai with some high water crossings. Full disclosure, I have not run this trail.
Have fun.

If the trip is on the 20th to the 21st I don't think I can make it. I was planning on the 13th to 14th.
Bummer.

I'm going to have to cancel this trip. I started feeling sick this week and getting worse so I went to the doctor this morning and tested positive for covid. Sorry to let you guys down.

After the signal peak trail run every body came back to are camping spot to hang out and catch up with each other's lives and stuff. Some people are staying another night and some unfortunately are leaving. After half are crew went home me and Mike started heading up the Fordyce Trail. As passengers we had Robert and his son Jason in Mike's very well built defender. I had Goose in my fully built Disco. It was late in the afternoon and we knew the crawlers would be coming back down the trail, it was a busy day on this trail because of Signal Peak being closed from the snow on the trail. It was a wonderful experience running this part of the trail again. After doing the bypass at wench hill 0.5 and just before the deep water crossing at the bottom of the hill we turned around fast to keep ahead of a group of crawlers that had a Toyota with open differentials that they were trying to get off the trail and back home. No way we wanted to get mixed up with that crazy mess. This trail reminds me of Hell Hole. Very steep rocky hills and lots water filled crossings with a few very hard obstacles. We made it back to camp with some light left to get things going like the fire and dinner. We had a wonderful evening just talking laughing and enjoying some good whiskey and beer. And then we went to bed. I woke up early, as I usually do and left early to beat the traffic and get home before all the craziness starts. I can't wait to do this again!.

I am also planning on heading up Friday afternoon and camping both nights. We could probably set camp up just past the trail head a little bit.

Looking good. Worst case scenario we just do an outen back.. can't wait, running the trail mid week is so awesome. It's a different trail without a 1000 jeeps there.

Yes, the snow is worrying. Until this last storm I was pretty sure this would be a cakewalk but now....IDK
What's up with the worrying? Landrover people's aren't scared of a little snow.
