I got a little work done on my long-neglected Series '61 II this week. Pulled the engine yesterday, transmission and transfer case are all disconnected and just sitting more or less in place but ready to come out. Getting ready to do a turbodiesel swap. Should be fun to drive with considerably more power than the old worn-out 2.25 gas engine, and probably about half the fuel consumption.

Good to see you are doing fine so far. We are OK down south, WFH is not new to me, but scary times.
 
PS: what? I wasn't looking at that 2004 DiscoII for sale, not fantasizing at all...

Working on some Rover projects in my driveway when the weather and my stress level permits. And working on music when the weather keeps me in.

I recently picked up a 1995 RR County LWB and I am looking for a local shop to help with maintaining it and also with some restoration work.
 
Which shops do you folks recommend?

Just thought I'd pop in to say "Hi" and see how you all are weathering the storm.

Got a new fog light switch (PRC3432)for the 110 off fleabay today.
 
My original switch had a cracked plastic handle.
 
Didn't expect this "New-old stock" to come corroded.
 

 
Some elbow grease, pencil eraser, and bristle brush and it is back to new.

My understanding is that the OEM is Dixon Bate, but yes, unfortunately there were no indications or markings of the OEM on them.
 
Yeah, the LR plate is pretty rad

These are so cool. (I think the little land rover plate does the trick )
 
If there are any $$ left over I may add them to the rear of the 110.

I recently justified having multiple LRs.  A discussion about how you go shopping and prevent infection.  It doesn't matter how many masks or gloves you wear while shopping, you touched every item.  You then touch the bags, the door handle, and then the steering wheel.  Even if you change gloves, you touch the new gloves while putting them on.  Next time you go out to your car (within the "72" hours that are often quoted as 'infection time') you touch those items and .... but if every time you go out you use a different Land Rover then you're safe!!!
 
Stay safe ... and buy Land Rovers

I am adjusting to WFH, and just have to do some social distancing from my refrigerator lol
 
And I got rid of my LR3 (only a one Land Rover guy here); feels good to have minimized my fleet! 
 
Anyways, I will be posting for sale stuff from the LR3 and misc stuff.

The Covid-19 outbreak has affected us all in some way or another - most apparent is the latest Shelter-in-Place order asking that all non-essential travel and activities outside the home be undertaken. 
 
Due to this order, the Board Members have agreed to cancel the MORG at Indian Valley Reservoir this month as it would not be responsible to our membership to get together (even if the risk is low while we are traveling in our rovers) and potentially further the spread. '
 
The Board will be keeping a pulse on latest developments of the outbreak and will give notice as the need arises to cancel any other events this month. 
 
In the mean time feel free to share with us what is keeping you busy during these times. Hopefully we are able to use this time to get the rovers ready and in tip-top shape this years club trips!

Honestly, the weather is going to suck over there anyways this weekend. I’ll post this same trip up again once we get back to normal life. One of my favorite lakes to shore fish for bass and relax.

Yes, but only just.  Basically, the State Department said to get home within 48 hours or risk being abroad "indefinitely".  I didn't like that idea, so complied.

Life in San Francisco has gotten eerie. On the sidewalks, the ratio of citizens to derelicts has dropped to alarming levels. Sidewalk squatter camps are growing in some neighborhoods (including mine -- the Mission). Many restaurants and small businesses have nailed plywood over windows and doors. I called the city about an obstreperous squatter on my block who shouted obscene suggestions at two teenage girls walking by, and then shouted threats of violence at me. The city help line said to call 911 if I get victimized.
 
Still, I walk every day. I'm not about to hide indoors.

Actually, I worked 56 hours last week .... when we come out the other side I'd like a job to go to, and unless I make sure my department hits the ground running, we will be last in line for tradesmen to do the real work.  Now is my time to get vendors on-boarded, quotes in and analyzed, and P.O.s placed.  The big "E" saw a large number of my P.O. requests yesterday.
 
It is raining this weekend so I can't get outside to do garden work, and the Rovers are sadly neglected.

Merlyn and I spent the weekend at Lake Almanor. First time going up there for us. They got a bunch of fresh snow up there and there’s tons of forest roads to go snow wheeling on. Since they literally had zero snow up there until Friday, it was pure powder all the way to the ground. So it was really easy to drive through and not get stuck in the slippery hard pack. If you have some time off work, consider a trip up there.
