Red Rover Project #2 & #3: Suspension & New Break Pads

After we finished the exhaust today, we started on the next one... Only had time to change the front brake pads because we 1. lost daylight and 2. we're tired. Rotors turned out to be in good condition, so thank goodness we don't have to do those too. Next weekend task... begin the front suspension. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/08/24/a77c74a8ce651cfb7adf4db04ab2b129.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/08/24/25610d35e86f8b7b52dfc993e15b5f3a.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/08/24/e9035957349253be6cd588566767283f.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/08/24/f91438007807a915edcdc7df4ac095d2.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/08/24/5243b49a1c0902a4845864b4942a21c5.jpg

Man.... When I hit rocks on my exhaust I just keep driving. You two just dump money into yours. Why not drop a 4.6 in it next? Exo-cage and full body armor?

It's fun getting to know the ins and outs isn't it? Well at least I think it is. Well done and keep the updates coming.

Let's just say I, as a woman, have become way more familiar with the inner workings of a vehicle than I ever thought I would.

And... I actually like it! For now...

Do you get that feeling of satisfaction when you take something from not working properly to working? That's what I like and what keeps me coming back again and again.

Yes, but it's a lot of work. I will be glad when it's done.

So what's RR's ETA for getting back on the road? We can't have you guys missing out on the next MORG or worse yet the Annual.

Not sure... the rear coils for the suspension are on back order for at least three weeks, maybe longer. So we are thinking of just finishing the brake pads and call it done for now I guess. I'm pretty disappointed about that because it's not fun to drive off road right now with the suspension as it is. But if we don't get the coils before the annual, than I guess we'll just have to take it anyway.

What are the OME spring #'s ?? I will find them if AB can't

We went with the Terrafirma TF023V - we've tried at least 3 places in the USA and all sold out and I think Jared called a few other places and no luck. They are all out of stock. We have both the shocks and coils for the front and we have the shocks for the rear. We just need the rear coils.

Here are the places we checked - our back order is with AB.

Atlantic British

Miami British

British 4x4 Outfitter in Texas

Try Justin @ lucky 8

I have a mild lift kit @ home new in the box for a classic but cant remember the brand.. I will look tonight.

Apparently Terrafirma has become very popular and they didn't expect the demand they've had in the US and now can't deliver enough quantities.

Have you checked with Rovers North? They have a big selection of Terrafirma products. I have bought all my suspension components from them. I see the part you are looking for there:

Justin was probably the first person to sell out of TF products. I'd email him directly to check. justin@lucky8llc.com

Have you considered a set of OME or RTE springs?

Justin says he has them in stock, so I ordered them. Hopefully will have them next week and then will cancel our back order with AB.
