I'm hoping to bring it... need to get the trailer wiring done and a couple of other minor things though. I have to pull the camper trailer for the family otherwise it'll be the Suburban and '96 Disco...
LandRonB
Sweet Nigel. Yes, bring it to the annual; you will get a lot of fans wanting to check it out.

Phil.
i have a full size 18" spare you can try to fit. every SA i've asked isn't quite sure if an 18" rim from the LR3/RRS will fit over the new, but none have actually tried. it'd be nice to know definitively. LandRonB
Just got back from Vegas; what's that saying "What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas"; My wife and I stopped by the Land Rover Center in Las Vegas on our way to http://www.springspreserve.org/plan/plan_your_visit.html (more on this later). We looked at the LR4 (very nice), and next day visited an outdoor depot place selling this tent trailer (business closing for sale - lots of these fire sale going on there); she said "What we see in Vegas, Stays in Vegas". Ha! Ha! Good one I said. Long story short, No LR4 or tent trailer coming home.
MrVideo
If you are looking for something to do this weekend, may I suggest you check out the Maker Faire at the San Mateo Co. Event Center. If you've never been to one before, you will be amazed at the amount of creative energy that surrounds the event. I will be there on Sunday shooting HD video for the ARRL to show how young people interact with the ham radio demos there. There will be at least 5 ham radio booths with displays and interactive activities. Outside the center, you may see the a white van with multiple antennas. This belongs to the blackberry REACT group. Stop in to see their well equipped van. Also of note; Sunday, Mike Rowe and Adam Savage of Discovery Channel will be there to give talks. I hope to get them on video at the FARS (Foothill Amateur Radio Society) booth. Hope to see you there. http://makerfaire.com/
drafdog
I will be attending with the kids but not sure if it will be sat or sun. Will keep an eye out for you.
MrVideo
I've posted my first video from the Maker Faire. See Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs stand in a Faraday cage and get hit by arcs from 2 tesla coils.
TigerDan
I really would have liked to go to that, but had too many other things to do. Bummer, since I was close by, at Chuck's in Woodside on Sunday. A buddy of mine ran the security for the fair, so if you saw folks in black shirts that said "Praetorian", that was them. I could have had a free pass (he offered) but just couldn't free up the time. My buddy escorted Mike Rowe in from the parking lot, said he was just as friendly, genuine and down-to-earth as he comes across on TV. Not a fake like so many celebs. And Adam Savage was cool too, but didn't want an escort once they'd cleared a path for him through the crowd after his talk. All in all it sounded like good time and an interesting event. Maybe next year...

Phil.
like! x2. i assume that spare won't fit underneath that's why it's up top. what size are those MTRs?
NigelCowan
x2. i assume that spare won't fit underneath that's why it's up top. what size are those MTRs? I don't like the idea of running around with my spare flat to make it fit so on the roof it must go! The tire is 275/65R18 (32.1") and they are great in the dirt and on rocks. Tested at Hollister on Sunday and had zero slippage, even went up Truck Hill and made that even feel too easy.
ColinB
Nigels LR4 looked so good. it really made it stand out. he did not seep slowed down by anything at Hollister. He was able to just creep up the stairs.
davidp
just throwing it out there.
