  1. I was not referring to Don's ability to flop a truck over but rather his trucks ability to withstand being flopped over with it's chopped top and roll bar installed.
  2. I like your setup very much. The odysseys are the best batteries out there.
  3. Using Don's D1 as a reference, why don't you chop the top off and build a roll bar and have a canvas top installed? You could do most of the work yourself and it would be fun to build. It would have a very low center of gravity and you could flop it over all you want.
  4. How could a flop be the demise of your D2? Surely a little duck tape and a hammer can fix your Landy. I know lots of people that flopped there Landy (including me) and are still running the trails.
  5. All done with the install. Everything working great.
  6. The 4x4 podcast, episode 139 did a review of the adventure they had on the Mojave Road. It was very insightful and entertaining.
  7. I am very intrested. I have time off then and from what I heard it is a epic journey with lots of history
  8. Very nice write-up Miles. I do look forward to one day visiting South Cow Mountain. I am definitely looking forward to hearing about the scur-fluffl.
  9. I just called the hopeland gas station ( 707-704-1298) and they said that the electricity's back on and they have gasoline.
  10. Facebook is where I can go web wheeling and not brake my Landy.
  11. The Optima yellow tops are a AGM deep cycle/starter batterys. I am installing the dual batteries set up for running a ready welder and a freezer/fridge (Dometic 95DZW)
  12. Discovery 2 owners club and the Arizona land rover owners club and the Southern California Land Rover. All are on Facebook and good for finding info. Just got my Genesis duel battery charging system.
  13. After lots advice ( From another chat group) I ordered the Genesis dule battery system. I plan on posting photos and instructions For the install of this set up.
  14. I found step-by-step instructions on the Internet for the install. Here are some pictures of the batteries installed.
  15. At this point I am considering getting the Genesis off road set up.
  16. I am going to put a dual battery system in my Landy and I am looking for advice on which would be the best set up.
  17. I am also planning to meet for the trail run tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
  18. Looks like Eric can't make this run and I do not want to lead this hard of a trail that I have not run before, so it's sadly canceled.
  19. I realy enjoyed reading the writeup from Don. The photos from the trail are awesome. I won't miss this trip next time.
  20. Also, if you wanna ( Private) run the whole trail, but starting from Alpine Lake. That will make this (Difficult) obstacle downhilll. Everybody's got a winch and armor. Who can't drive down hill? Drive slow & don't roll.
  21. (On a deferment, private run.) this trail can be run as a (out and back) with armor and 31" tiers and good lines with obstacles with no lockers needed. A wench and recovery points at both ends will be necessary. Larger tires and lockers will make traveling faster.
  22. I'll be joining this trip. This one has been on my bucket list. The guys over on the Snail Trail pod cast (Jimmy and Tyler) ran this trail last weekend and talked about it today on their Podcast. I hope the fishing's good.
  23. I will also be out early Thursday morning, lunch time. I am driving up from the South Bay area.
