Hi Folks,

Anyone interested in becoming a Tread Lightly Trainer (be certified to help spread the Tread Lightly principles)?

Or next level, how about interested in becoming a Master Trainer (teach others to be Tread Lightly Trainer)?

Typically these courses are only offered in S. Cal or somewhere up in Seattle or Utah areas (HQ for TL). Rare in the Bay Area which makes it far drive for us Bay Area residents to have to drive down to S. Cal (which I did to get certified as Tread Lightly Trainer).

Now there is an opp to setup these courses - Tread Lightly Org just got a grant to offer these courses in the Bay Area.

I am working with Mary Van Buren, Training and Education Manager for Tread Lightly w/logistics.

Selected cities have to be near the airport e.g. Oakland, SJO or SFO for Tread Light officials to be able to fly-in or short drive.

And centrally located to generate enough interest (typically min 25 sign-ups to cover cost) (register cost is anywhere between $25-$50) attendees from all over the Bay Area. Opp for NCLR club members, prospects or general public to take these courses.

Also our club, NCLR, has a leadership opportunity to help Tread Lightly and be involved or get more members trained.

I am a certified Tread Light Trainer and have volunteered to co-teach/assist these courses.

Couple of questions:

1) Anyone here interested in becoming a Tread Lightly Trainer?

2) Master Trainer? Besides me, anyone else.

3) Do we still have connection with LR Fremont or LR Redwood to be able to use their facility on Sat or Sunday. Even though Tread Lightly received a grant - it's not a whole lot of money, and if we can offer a meeting room at no cost, we might even be able to barter registration or get recognition. I am working on it as your Director of Affairs - lol!

Please get back to me if interested and if you have answers to questions above; here's the link to Tread Lightly: http://www.treadlightly.org/page.php/programs-trainercourse/Trainer_Courses.html?t=2

Cheers!

Ron

Ron, depending on when the classes are offered (pre or post holidays) I'd like to attend a class/get certified. Go well with the WFA Cert......

Not sure how much more it takes to be a Master Trainer, but I could starts at the first level and move up in time.....

Keep me on the info list...

BTW, Nikki Barstow is not at LR Fremont. I don't know who the contact is, but David (Sas) is going to their Wheels event, so maybe he can track down a contact for us?

Good to hear interest guys!

I think Tread Lightly is looking at courses (don't have the exact details; more to come) during the month of March 2010 in the Bay Area; also for folks in the Sacramento in May 2010.

Mike, I will reach out to Dave; perhaps we can re-connect w/LR Fremont area. Does LR Redwood City have a meeting room like LR Fremont? Thanks!

i'd be game. there's also Land Rover - San Jose as a possible meeting place.

Do you have any connections with LR San Jose Mark?

And Sas or Dave, if you are reading this, hope you can re-connect w/the right contact w/LR Fremont during their Wheels Event. Just give me a name (Nikki is no longer @ LR Fremont and so are # people we used to know) and I can follow-up.

Thanks!

Ok, Tread Lightly tells me that the date for the Tread Lightly Trainer course will be March 20, 2010 somewhere in the Bay Area.

It will be an eight hour class Saturday; worth it plus fun to network among 4x4 enthusiast and you learn to spread the Tread Lightly principles plus be a certified.

There will be a maximum of 25 people in the class; believe the fee is $25.

So we have:

- Mike

- Stevemd

- Enrique

- Brenton

- Jim

- Luis

- Steve

- Mark

Based on the date above, are the folks listed above still can make it? Anyone else interested?

I'm interested. The contact is Samantha Francisco at Fremont. I've never spoken to her - only communication has been via e-mail. She seemed to be on Point with the Wheels Events. I did not attend the most recent event, so I cannot confirm if this is the Golden Ticket for us. Great place to start though. Her addy is - Samantha.Francisco@fremontmotorcars.com

Good morning Ron,

Thank you so much for your email. I just got back in the office after being sick for a few days.

Nikki is no longer with us and I have taken over some of her responsibilities.

I know that I have heard about you guys and would like to reconnect with you.

I will forward your email and also speak with our new general manager, Ron Wheeler about working with NCLR.

As soon as I get caught up with my work I will give you a call. Thanks again and I look forward to working with you guys!

Thanks,

Samantha Francisco
