  1. Don, Oh, is that what it was? Sounded terrible! Graeme
  2. Don, Sounds like a John Deere engine is installed ... Graeme
  3. I believe they do have them in stock sir. Two types, depending upon the year. Fronts vary (male and female fittings changed). Rear can be one or two hoses also. Graeme
  4. Well, maybe the Chinese have worked the Japan scam .... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usa,_%C5%8Cita Regards, Graeme
  5. I think that just helps sell them. The first time you put the brakes on at the end of an off-ramp, and go from 65mph to zero, I'm pretty certain you'll scorch them a lot more than they did at the factory .... Graeme
  6. Don, Wowww, those driveshafts for the D3 just doubled in price .... Graeme
  7. TrackMotive are just regular "aftermarket", made in China, parts. The regular LR one is likely to be stronger. I have two BMW drive shafts here, one is FEQ and the other TrackMotive (SurTrack rebranded with a sticker). Neither are 'nice', although the TrackMotive CV looks better, the shaft has a distinct 'ridged' finish, and is smaller than the FEQ. In this case, size isn't everything. Regards, Graeme
  8. Ashcroft do them, as do Quaife I believe. And, of course, RoverWare.US can order them for customers. Personally, I prefer adding a TBD (Torque Biasing Differential) as the extra cost is not much more and you get both the 4 pin strength and a differential similar to a Truetrac (but stronger). Regards, Graeme
  9. Hard for me to see from that photo, but that looks like the the single cross pin has started to friction weld to one of the planet gears which has then spun the bearing in the casing. The gears have suffered as a result of the 'play'. This is common for a Rover 2-pin pin diff, and is considered the weak link in the axle (not the half-shafts as is often thought). Regards, Graeme
  10. Jason, You must mean these kits from RoverWare.US http://www.roverware.us/door-handle-cam-kit-kit-door-safe-stc3063-left-front/ http://www.roverware.us/door-handle-cam-kit-kit-door-safe-stc3064-right-front/ Regards, Graeme
  11. When a driveshaft is greased, it is almost impossible to clean up the grease that oozes from the seals and from the nipple (zirk) and fitting on the gun. Clearly, in these pictures, the last time they were greased a toothbrush and q-tips (cotton swabs) were used to clean these areas as they are so nice and grease free. Odd how the mud and dust wasn't cleaned off though .... and doesn't grease prevent rust .... and the interior of the joint is totally devoid of grease ... mmmmm My estimation is that these haven't seen grease for 10,000 miles. Did you know that sometimes when you don't grease driveshafts they break and throw the front UJ through the side of the gearbox/transmission? https://goo.gl/photos/bNrK1fvUNEVnngVD9 The rear shaft has so much play in the front joint that it can't be driven .... for the same reason. Regards, Graeme
  12. Pedram, RoverWare.US has them in stock .... Graeme
  13. Pedram, That would seem about right .... judging by the color of the diff oil ..... it was probably planned for when the diff oil was changed .... Regards, Graeme
  14. Tyler, Before I decide whether or not to post pictures of that driveshaft, perhaps you'd like to tell the world when you last actually greased that joint, and with what (type of tool and type of grease). Think carefully before answering, as I am dismantling that joint ..... Graeme
  15. Nathan,

Do I remember that a while ago you said you had a 4.6 block (plus crank, pistons, and rods) that you were willing to sell? Looking for something for a friend to get top-hat liner-ed and built up with the parts from his 4.0 .....

    Regards,

    Graeme

  16. Think I did this wrong ....
  17. Hey Chuck,

Did you know that your truck (yes, the one with no gearbox) is featured (okay, very very briefly shown) in a TechShop video, during a part of the Mendo Rally (they were following the pink compact that was partially built at TechShop).

    Regards,

    Graeme
