  1. https://ezregister.com/events/29917/ Camping Purchased Separately through Recreation.gov On behalf of the Southern California Land Rover Club I would like to invite you to our 19th annual Rover Rendezvous, August 2-4, 2019 in Big Bear California. Our first Rover Rendezvous was in 2000. It has grown from a small group of club members going on a camping trip into a yearly ritual. Rover Rendezvous is a big SCLR family reunion, without all the weird comments and fighting from crazy relatives. We spend the evenings catching up with friends, telling stories of past trips and wrenching adventures. The days are spent out on the trail, making new friends and writing new stories. Friday night is a potluck dinner and night trail run. Saturday we have trail runs for all ability levels. In the evening is the sponsor night where sponsors can set up shop and showcase their products and services to the club members. After a delicious BBQ dinner, the raffle tickets start flying! 3. maybe do both since its a long drive. It will be interesting to see what the flow rate at the creek crossings will be
  4. due to snowfall I have doubts the trail will be open this year or will be vary late in the season. So back up plan will be to run Rubicon September 5-8
  5. Well looks like Tammy and i are no going to make Moab. The defender needs more work and i have some business things that need to be accomplished this week.
  6. from about june 10 to labor day i will be working 7 days a week. so no offroading just lots of duning.
  7. wont be able to make it but if Dusy is closed maybe do a early September trip back to Rubicon.
  8. Trip is getting closer . Tammy and I are calling a few RV/campgrounds in Moab. The road to Last Hurrah look a little tight for trailers. We are also planing to join the Kokopelli run.Whats everyone's plan for camping?
  9. It was originally black but faded to gold.

  11. I would not do it on 31 even 33s its vary challenging. This trail is like the Rubicon but twice as long. expect body damage.
  12. Return to the Dusy Ershim . Due to difficulty and time we will only have 5 trucks per group . Going 1 Lutz 110 2 Tammy p38 3 Don D1 4 Andrew D2 5 Miles and Theresa RRC Interested Daniel K D90 Ham repeater 146.820- 141.3 / KE6JZ Shaver Lake Ham NCLR 146.460 DIFFICULTY RATING: MOST DIFFICULT - expect body damage Date : September 5-9 Agenda/Itinerary: Will try and make it out Sunday but expect getting out Monday just in case Thursday :Meet up in Shaver lake at gas station for last fuel up.All trucks must top off. After refueling Head to Voyager Rock campground 34 miles. Friday:Pack up camp hit the trail.Voyager Rock to Thompson Lake Saturday:Thompson Lake to Ershim Lake Sunday:Ershim Lake to Lakecamp Lake Monday:Finnish trail head home Overview: A very scenic trail that climbs to 10,000 feet at Thompson Lake, then rarely drops below 9,000 feet after that. You'll pass several excellent lakes offering good camping and fishing. Almost the entire trail passes through wilderness, which is just 300 feet on each side of the trail. Stay on designated routes at all times. Do not camp within 100 feet of lakes and streams. Carry a fire permit and fishing license if applicable. No target shooting anywhere along route. Pack out your trash. Trail is for summer use only and is approved for ATVs and dirt bikes. Make sure you have plenty of mosquito repellent in the warm summer months. Located in Sierra National Forest. Over ninety percent of this 30-mile trail is slow-speed rock crawling. The most difficult part of the trail is Thompson Hill (when driven uphill). It starts gradually and gets worse as you climb higher. Also very difficult are the last two miles of the trail, going south to north, as described here. Many other challenges await. The forest service recommends the trail be driven in a short-wheel-base vehicle with at least 32-inch tires and one locker. The fact is, even better equipped vehicles are seriously tested. Be prepared for breakdowns because help is a long way off. Never drive this trail by yourself. The trail can also be driven from the north starting at White Bark Vista. DIRECTION TO THE DUSY-ERSHIM ROUTE Take Dinkey Creek Rd. from Hwy 168. Then take Mckinley Grove Rd. to Courtright Rd. and turn left to Courtright Reservoir. Cross the dam on the east side of the lake and stay on the road to the Dusy-Ershim OHV Route sign. Quick List of vehicle mod req (and given your vehicle is in mechanical tip-top shape):1) Solid recovery points both front and back,2) Enough lift to run 33s/aggressive tires,3) Sliders and Diff Guards,4)Front and rear lockers, HD axles5) Upgrade rear trailer arms (D90s/D1/RRC) if applicable6) HD bumpers7) Winch. optional be recommended8)Ham operator a plus.9) 5 gal spare fuel can. you may run out without it.10)spare parts (will discuss this as trip planning) More pic'shttps://www.owenfotos.com/Toms-Stuff/Rover/Dusy2014/

  14. if i tyrailer it will be with Tammys duramax . The lr3 doesn't like the baja id hate to see how it would do with something twice its weight.
  15. I'm interested .hopefully my truck is ready. I'm in the same boat as Don.if i will trailer her out or drive.
  16. Well shes back together but still has low pressure. Im at 7psi at idle and 35 at 2k. She sounds great so will see how long she last. Time to start looking for a series
  17. Started on oil pump and timing chain .Pump was broken into 3 parts and timing chain was super lose.now just doing clean up and bolt her back together.
  18. Yea it makes things easy. Only downside is when you need to re-spoil yourself have to get the old remote out.If i had to redo it prob just go with the new wireless setup and have the original as backup.
  19. Put a new switch for my remote winch control and put two automatic door locks from my donor truck.. Now on to Dusy prep
  20. NIce score. I would order new o rings before install and to test them .They look like the old RD56 that had a plastic cage inside them. It's know for failing and locking up the diff. On another note started putting new watts bushings in the d2
  21. Lr3 got new rear diff fluid now just need to do front diff, trafercase and trans filter. Dragging my feet. D2 had here shock bolts tighten and a overall check .
  22. Started to part out the 99 d2.also prepping the 04 d2 for shaver lake.
  23. Put a trailer wiring kit in the lr3 shes almost ready to tow the baja.
  24. there's a sub in the tail gate. the amp goes under the second row seats.
