  1. Unfortunately I wont be able to make it. Rubicon has exacted its jealousy square on my D2 and rendered me incapable of attending other trips. In fact, I feel the truck can make it, but I got word today that it's being deemed a total loss and at some point in the next few days the insurance company will remove it from the policy until I can get it registered as a rebuilt. etc etc etc. Unless my open diff RRC can make it, I have a long list of weekend work to get the D2 back on the road. Have fun guys * * * I'm once again out the LR world for a brief spell.
  2. Excellent videos and slideshow. Thanks for putting that together.
  3. Eric already created Rovicon 2 on Google, can we combine the addresses/content?
  4. I don't know if you have ever tried this, but if you buy a SMALL amount of dry ice, smash it into smaller bits, then wrap in plastic or something to separate and place at the bottom of your cooler. It will add days to your ice life. Pro tip: DO NOT expect that adding more will make it last longer. It will freeze everything in the cooler. Don't ask how I know that.
  5. I'm happy to bring a bunch of firewood that I'll pick up near the area along with my solo stove - I'm guessing there aren't fire rings and bald MTN fire was too small for everyone to fit around so I'm sure we'll need more than one. I can also bring ice but I don't have much room for it. I'll do what I can.
  6. I still haven't figured out where to camp Wednesday and Thursday... Probably gonna be last minute. Good news is the on board welder should be here Monday!!
  7. Uncle Tom's cabin response: Hi Joseph, we are currently closed so keep an eye on the page for an update with reopening details. We would love to have you stay at the campground if we are open. There are no reservations needed as it is first come first serve. $10 per vehicle per night. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
  8. I sent this to the Uncle Toms Cabin Facebook page... Hi... First time visit coming up in August. Do we need a reservation to camp? Aug 13, one night. Vehicle camp. Ie: no ground tent, we sleep in our 4x4. Thank you
  9. Group camp? Get our own? Any additional details that might be relevant for early arrivers? I'm planning to leave so cal on the 12th and take a leisurely drive up, camping somewhere on the 12th then arriving on the 13th for a nice restful afternoon/evening before the long weekend.
