CMW got a reaction from bandykins in 2015 RRSC Rock Sliders
I took the family on a 3 week trip this summer thru 7 states and 13 national parks. We were going to thru Moab and over the Imogene pass. I wanted to add rock sliders but couldn't find anything commercially available so I made a set. I think they came out pretty nice. I've jacked up the truck using the sliders and they are plenty strong enough. They came in handy a couple times in Moab.

I also changed out the 22" wheels for 20s and put on 275/55 Nitto Ridge Graplers. They worked really well aired down and were also very quite on the road. Here's a few pictures.

If anyone wants more info on the sliders, I'm happy to share.

Thanks. Here's a shot after I primed the sliders. You can see I just welded in brackets to support the infill panels. The panels are made from 1x6 Ipe wood. They are attached with stainless 1/4" flat head cap screws and nylock nuts. I primed the sliders with Akzo epoxy and I painted them with raptor bed liner and I'm really impressed with how tough that paint is.

Yeah Moab is beautiful. We explored Canyonlands and Arches national parks. And did the Fins and Things trail. I wanted to do Hells Revenge but my girlfriend gets a little nervous.

This is my first Range Rover and despite having a lot of issues after I first got it I really fell in love with it during this trip. It's amazing how effortless it is to take off road. There were a few jeeps and trucks having a much tougher time on some of the obstacles on fins and things. The RR just motored over everything. We dragged the trailer hitch once coming off a really steep grade and hit one of sliders because I dropped into a hole a little fast. But other than that it was amazing. Off roading in plush comfort, weird.

No rubbing at all even at access height and a much better ride than the original continentals on 22s.

    Thanks for the help!!

I spoke with Colin this morning and he is a standup honest and knowledgeable guy.  He said he's in the middle of moving his shop and couldn't really look at the truck for a couple weeks. He also said he had never torn the heads off of one of these 5.0 SC engines and didn't have all the tools necessary.  I really appreciate that kind of honesty. So, he gave me the number for Exclusive British European in Campbell.  I called them and spoke to Juan.  He seems to be another good guy.  But they couldn't look at the truck until next week.

I also called the dealer that sold me the car and they assured me that the warranty they sold me would cover the repair.

So, I've decided to not let this affect our planned vacation and take the family to Yellowstone.  I'll deal with this when we get back.

Again, thanks for the lead.  It's been a relief to talk to a few people and come to the realization that this will probably end well.
