This one has snuck up on me - it's now less than a week away.

I believe Drew took up the slack for me in June and went to Hollister.  Do we have any requests for July?

This would be next Saturday, July 1st just so everybody knows.

There had been some discussion last month of heading north to Knoxville.  That's still a possibility.  There's also been discussion of doing a split part day at Praire City and part doing a trail run out highway 50 a bit.  I could certainly do that, though I'd need to research exactly what trails are within easy striking distance.

Let's hear your input!  I'd like to get this nailed down in a few days so people can make plans.

I'm recommending Dutch Flats... Its about an hour drive from Prairie City off HWY 80

Went 3 weeks ago with a D2, D90, Stock D1, and my classic and we had a blast. Plenty to do for all mixed ranges of vehicles.

Possible, but that's even further away for most people.  Prairie City will already be a 1.5-2hr drive depending on where people are coming from, another hour north from there is pushing it for a one day trip.

Of course Knoxville is a solid 2+ hrs for most people as well so that's not a home-run either.

Still open to suggestions.  I'm wondering how Frank Rainse is in July...?

Unless I hear a better suggestion in the next 24 hrs or so I think we go with Prairie City.  It's bigger than you realize, though not as big as Hollister of course.  From there we can decide if we want to head up and do a trail run or perhaps pay a visit to a local watering hole.

OK, I think I have a plan.

Let's make it Prairie City, 10AM as usual.  I've put a request in with Ted and Nick of Overland Pros to see if they might be able to bring out some of their new gear for a little show and tell.  We can then retire to a local establishment for a late lunch after some trail time.

Oh, you mean like how I do when it's Hollister?   :)  I usually leave at 7 to get there in time.

I suppose we could push a little later if we have to.  Tradition says 10 so that's what I went with.

Of course if you show up a little late it's not like we won't let you in or anything.

I was just commenting for those in the Bay Area who want to go, like myself, that we'll need to leave earlier. That was pretty much it. No need to change the time or anything.

Got it -

I was going to post a thumbs up emoji but we don't seem to have one.  Come to think of if, we don't have a topless D1 icon either.  This is a terrible oversight.  :)

If anyone from the Bay Area is planning to go and wants to caravan, I'll be at the Chevron at 510 Newhall Dr., San Jose which is near the San Jose airport, at 7:15am. Leaving Chevron at 7:30am.

Sweet!  We haven't seen you around in forever!

As an extra, if people wanted Ted has suggested we head up to Folsom Lake afterward for a little BBQ action.  This would give those with kids a place to play in the water since it will be hot.   Alternatively if we don't have any/many kids along this time we can retire to a local watering hole like Out of Bounds.

Greg, what's up with the D1?

No radiator...

Also waiting on stub shafts for the rear that are bored out to the diameter of the 30spline axels.

Just a quick head's up - Nick and Ted of Overland Pros have received their first container of goodies and will be bringing a couple rigs out to the MORG - if you are in the market for anything like an awning, RTT, ground tent, etc give them a ring and maybe you can arrange a free delivery   :)

Planning to head to Folsom Lake afterward. Will bring paddleboards to splash around. The Folsom Rodeo is also going on and we are hoping to hit that afterward as well.
