Golden Gate's 75th Anniversary in May

Recommended Posts

Anyone interested in going to this event? It's May 26 & 27th. I can lead this, for sure. I think there is a camping ground outside the city. I'll do more research. I read in the SF Chronicle that there are going to be lots of events and vendors. I really want to go.

Thanks! I guess this is a dud?

Well, maybe not yet. Let's try this. I am that half full glass type of guy (smile).

Could we get (Mike, can you pls look into this) enough interest (dealers/clubs) to rent Bodega Bay private trail in Marin?

Could we also order 75th Anniv Golden Gate baseball caps ($15.95 retail) and have http://www.nclrclub.org stitched on them (like what Rovers North did as one of our give-aways last annual gathering)?

And can we throw in ham radio. Like to add cooking in the mix, camping Friday, wheeling Saturday and caravan across the Golden Gate bridge on Sunday May 27th - celebrating its 75th anniversay since May 27, 1937!

Local vendor sponsor e.g. Tepui, Royal Robins (clothing)...

Anyone interested? Shouldn't conflict w/our Pismo trip the week before and nothing is planned for this wknd!

Crystal - if enough interest, I can help you co-plan this. C yah!

Bodega Bay trail? If you are talking about the ranch that has the goats and the guy who will sell you eggs and honey before you leave, then yes, I'm interested. I cut my offroading teeth there, under the direction of Tim Scully and Lee McGee. Would love to return.

Ok I reached out to LR Marin and LR Walnut Creek; asked if they have any plans to do LR Wheeling Event @ Bodega Bay; will post response.

Have not heard back from these dealerships especially plans for GG Anniv.

If my family and I are in town, will probably just head over Marin and have lunch, and back.

If any one is interested in a cruse on the bay, my partener is on the board of directors for the USS Potomac Presidential Yacht and we will be doing a dinner and drinks on the yacht and will be under the GG bridge for the fire works and cruse around the bay $150 adults and 99 for kids but don't quote me on that I will find out exactly the price soon also its a great learning experience for the kids about our US history we also do school tours on the bay and private.

who runs that one in Bodega? Cheri grew up out there and is curious as to who it is.

John Braybyn is the owner of that Bodega Bay property - Salmon Creek Ranch? He started rangerovers.net. Why couldn't we just contact him directly?

Phil, your lead may come thru.

Carl from RRnet responded to me; meant to send it to John. Now checking with John. Carl is checking for his avail.

We can keep the agenda simple - my suggestion. Meet somewhere in San Francisco eg Crissy Fields, drive thru the historic Golden Gate Bridge, meet at Bodega Bay, work out an appetite for lunch wheeling and then catered lunch. Variety of wine brought in for tasting optional after wheeling and during lunch (no drinking and driving). I know it's last min and less than 1 month to plan - why not. Cost est $20 for food catered. $10 for wine tasting. These are est cost - will be depending on head count. Anyone interested in making this happen on May 27; celeb GG bridge turning 75 and wheeling on a privacy prop in Bodega Bay? Post up if you are asap so I can get a head count.

Also I am reaching to LR in Redwood City - one of our sponsors. See if they would interested in joining/sharing the cost.

Just do it!

Hey Ron,

I am pretty sure that John is going to be at the mendo recce trip this weekend. If he is, I will try to get a feel from him about your suggestions. Great plan, I don't know if I can make it, but it sure sounds like fun! If all works out and you need some vino, let me know.

That would be great Robb if you can get a sense of what John would think of my suggestion. Thanks!

Let John also know that I initially suggested the idea on Range Rover Net; Carl from RR Net ended-up receiving my message, and was also going to check with him.

And yes if it all works out, would like to take your offer on some vino; PM sent. Thanks!
