  1. Beer orders gathered and invoices are being sent out now. It looks like a really hot day tomorrow. I will try to re-chill the beers tomorrow night in the hotel tub so you will have cold beer for Sunday. I will be at the Days Inn Saturday night, and do not have an ETA yet. I should be easy to spot, my plate is "LAGER". Thank you for supporting East Brother Beer Co! Cheers, Paul
  2. Getting close to last call! East Brother Beer and Gear Order Form: https://forms.gle/hTo8xAxKzwPZWwrh8 So far I have orders from: - mffoster - CRYA - PaulD and the variety packs for each truck...
  3. I am likely missing the convey from SJ to Needles. I would like to say that I will be on the road by 9a, but reality will be closer to 10a I think. I'll know more as we get closer to Saturday.
  4. I think you purr-frectly. I am trying to figure out packing fluids too. Guess I’ll need to befriend a cat owner for old, unused litter buckets… in-law prep, regular weekly honey-do’s and trip prep is exhausting.
  5. Thanks for the tip. Too focussed on one solution and not the original 'problem'. Found one on Amazon for $225 that is about the same size as my Plano Storage Trunk. Worth a shot...
  6. Great tools list! I really need to start putting one together for my rig. For now, my current tool kit is a hidden 6-Pack White Claw, See Miles. I am debating now on how much I want to "cook" vs a week of Backpacker Pantry... and if I want to upgrade to a Megamat... and my on-going internal debate of cooler vs refrigerator... The Quarterly REI Member Sale often leads to gear upgrades. At least "most" of my gear is in bins and ready. Might not be the "right" bin, but I'll let my OCD run wild to deal with that.
  7. East Brother Beer and Gear Order Form: https://forms.gle/hTo8xAxKzwPZWwrh8 NOTE: First time using Google Forms. Looks pretty straight-forward, but if there are issues, we will get it sorted. - yes, I am collecting your email, but it is for order verification. And, well I can probably find your email from the forum anyway... - 20% Discount is included in the prices. More details on the form. Order Deadline is Wednesday 7-April. I will be loading the beer up on Friday and distribute Sunday morning. I will be staying at the Day's Inn Saturday night, I am unsure of my arrival time, but if it works out, I can deliver then too. For T-Shirts and Sweatshirts, we cover S-XXXL. There is very limited availability for S, M, XXL and XXXL. If you need these sizes, I can let you know what is available. The sweatshirts are "hipster-sized", so they are a bit snug/trim.
  8. I will post an order sheet soon, but if you want a sneak peek to what we offer: https://www.eastbrotherbeer.com/beer Bo Pils: Bohemian Style Pilsner, 5.0% Red Lager: Vienna Style Lager, 4.7% Oatmeal Stout, 5.4% Gold IPA, 7.3% Red IPA, 6.5% I will try to save some Maibock (7.0%), which is our Spring Lager Seasonal release for the group: https://www.eastbrotherbeer.com/about-maibock I will supply every rig one mix 6-pack. We typically sell the beer by the 4-pack. If you want to gear up: https://www.eastbrotherbeer.com/shop * Delivery Notes: I will try my best to keep the beer cool from SF to Needles. I'm staying at a hotel on Saturday, maybe I will empty their ice machine... I will distribute the beer at the starting point, and it should be nice and cool for afternoon happy hour. I am staying at the Day's Inn Saturday night, and I am not sure what my ETA will be; I can distribute from there too.
  9. Gold IPA will be a good fit. It is pretty similar to Lil Sumpin' Sumpin'. The Red IPA is maltier IPA with Simcoe and Mosaic hops. Our Lagers are our highlight.
  10. 9 hours of "Are we there yet?" I'm down. My in-laws are in town so I will be trying to get on the road as early as possible.
  11. As the Unofficial Beer Sponsor... Each truck will get a variety 6-pack of East Brother Beer Co Beer. Bo Pils Red Lager Gold IPA Red IPA Oatmeal Stout Lager Series: Maibock (Spring seasonal release) I'll be sure to have some extra beer and swag along too. So, please leave a little room in your coolers/fridges for some beer. I can also pass along a club discount and deliver to Needles if you need to stock up for the week. Alright back to trip prep...
  12. Axe Body Spray. That’ll keep everything away. Except last call at a college bar, you’re on your own.
  13. The trick is, when you get home to unload, make four piles - ”the 10 essentials”, used more than once, used one time and didn’t use. Next time you go out, leave the never used behind… scrutinize the used once pile. Think of it as a backpacking trip and you need to carry upwards of a week’s supplies. With vehicle travel, you gain space cooler, bigger stoves, chairs, better food and most importantly, beer. Keep it simple, compact and light, and you’ll have plenty of space for a few luxury items. When you get your gear right, you’ll be saying “but I have so much room!” And with groups this size, if you forget something, there’s bound to be someone who is overpacked…
  14. I am certainly taking advantage of one last shower and a bed. I also imagine that my departure time will be later than I hope, so rolling into a hotel late will make things a bit easier.
  15. For those that want to do some research on the Mojave Heritage Trail, here is *the* resource. Well, this appears to correlate with Miles' reference info in post 1. https://mdhca.org - Set of 4 Guides ($100) Individual Sections can be purchased separately: https://mdhca.org/publications/east-mojave-heritage-trail - Road Guide ($19.95): https://mdhca.org/publications/mojave-road-guide There are a couple of Trip Reports listed, Trail supplements, GPX/KML I am planning on picking up copies of the books. The Section Guides look like they will have more about history, fauna, etc about the route. Might be something to keep passengers entertained.
  16. Public message to my own feed. Where does this go?

  17. Here are the vehicle requirements and such from the sign-up page. This will save me a couple of clicks, and once it sells out, I am guessing that it will be hard to find again, and I will need to remind myself of the couple of things that I need to pickup for the event. About 2022 Annual Roverland Event: EMHT Seg. 1 & 2 (Driver) Minimum Vehicle Requirements Mechanically Sound Rover (as best as they are) Working E-Brake/Parking Brake 30" tires including full-size spare Recovery Points front and rear Center Differential Lock (CDL) (or other modern equivalent) Minimum Gear Requirements: Enough water for each participant for multiple days Extra Fuel Spare parts and tools Fire Extinguisher First Aid kit Recommended Vehicle Requirements and gear: Armor (rear bumpers, diff guards, sliders) Working winch Vehicle Jack and Tire patch kit Shovel It is very possible to complete this event without damage, however broken axles, CV's, body damage, etc. are not uncommon. NCLR is not liable for any damages. Enter at your own risk. At a minimum, you should expect: Pinstripes are 100% going to happen. Divorce yourself from your paint now. There are many steep drops and rises in and out of washes, depending on what this year's winter brings, the roads could be fine, or a washed out disaster. Vehicles that have low profile front and rear bumpers may see scuffing/contact.
  18. I’m in. May need to add 2 passengers but the in-laws are coming. Paul LR4, aka Lager Rover
  19. Still waiting to be spotted...
  20. Schedule a test sooner than later. Appointments fill up quickly and it’s all virtual. The sample questions are the same as the test questions. Baofeng handhelds are a cheap way to get going.
  21. Bummer that I missed this post! I am generally around M-F 9 till ???? you can text me too for quicker response: 415-533-1298.
  22. We were too busy drinking and chasing Vivian and Seb on the roof of Jeremy's rig... I'll upload the picts from WhatsApp
  23. Thanks for coming out to the brewery. Seb and Vivian had lots of fun climbing Rovers.
