LandRonB
Friends of the Rubicon are having their 1st work weekend at the end of June. For more info or to sign up click here. http://www.delalbright.com/Rubicon/workday_june09_signup.html Did this 2 years ago and great opp to check out the Rubicon on foot and ride buggies avail to transport people. I got to see the some parts of the trail. Are you going?
MrVideo
Not going because of a busy work schedule. Thought as you did, great opportunity to get out there and experience the trail without any pressure to "perform" plus contributing to the overall cause of trail maintenance. astateofmike
Tooling around in the Rover at lunch. Went up Mt. Diablo. Got to thinking. Any families (since there is zero off roading) interested in doing a Sat night shakedown camp at Mt. Diablo. Campsites would be at 2900 ft, gates are locked and no driving after dark. You can get the 50 people campsight for $165 for a night......cheap. There are other smaller group camps that can represent a savings for a small group and privacy from other campers. NO offroading. NO alcohol. NO dogs on trail...... really? geez..... No driving at night, but night hiking is ok. Looking for a shakedown trip for the kids and equipment. One night, date TBD. Anyone else interested for a night?
LandRonB
Good idea. Did a shakedown @ East Bay Regional Park Chabot Campgrounds a few months ago this year. How about a trip to Blue Lakes?
