We are headed up to Humboldt State Park. Since I won't be around for this MORG (or October's since I will be on travel), anyone up for an impromptu trip to Hollister on Saturday, Sep 17? I need to do some recon down there anyway for the Member Appreciation weekend and that's quickly sneeking up on me as well. So the usual: 10AM at the Hollister Hills SVRA entrance (ranger) station. Plan to bring snacks or lunch as we'll likely be on the trail until early afternoon though there is no defined stop time.Will be monitoring 146.460 and I'll have my cell with me 510-825-5056 though the service is very poor in the area so don't count on phone. All the beer you can drink (not that I encourage drinking ), Friday dinner, breakfast and dinner on Saturday & breakfast again on Sunday...all for $50.00 And you need not be a Tepui Tent owner to attend. We even sent 3 different rigs up and back down Truck Hill; it's in really good shape right now. You can crawl it and even stop mid-way down without sliding. I got to see new areas of hollister in the last two MORGs, met a couple new folks and I went up and down that hill twice at the request of my 3 year old.Unfortunately, on the way home, I was informed by a friendly peace officer that the prior owner of my D2 had put a 2016 sticker on my plate but reg was up in 2014. shaaaaaady.... but, fortunately, this officer preferred telling me everything about his built 4-runner over siting me.
