Free Admission to CA Academy of Sciences Active Firefighters, Police Officers, EMTs..

Recommended Posts

FYI - things to do with your kids during their school break or just to visit

No affiliation - just a great place to visit w/your family and thought I'd share the promo

During the month of February, the California Academy of Sciences will offer free general admission to active firefighters, police officers, sheriffs, CHP officers and EMTs in honor of their service to our communities (regular price is $29.95).

To participate, individuals must show proof of occupation and a valid ID at the ticket window. This discount applies to one individual admission only and cannot be combined with other offers: http://www.calacademy.org/visit/

Took my two boys yesterday:

Pic 1 - Meet & greet T-rex as you enter

Pic 2 - Creepy crawlers in the Rainforest

Pic 3 - Our favorite Steinhart Aquarium in the Academy

Lots of other activities like the Igloo tent w/360 short movie presentation of the Artic Circle...

Enjoy especially for the kids

Rupert - lol. I think that's just free breakfast from the Holiday Inn.

Thanks Enrique - yes, I am sharing the info for anyone involved law inforcement, first responders e.g. fire fighers, EMTs..

Terry, if you are involved in emergency response team for your city or first responder (Search and Rescue) as a volunteer for your county, you also qualify; just show your ID.

Cool! Have all that stuff, you had just mentioned fire FIGHTERS, and I'm on the admin side of that. They said I got too loony going into the heat. I guess they don't like a guy that has that much enthusiasm to walk on hot coals and breath fire... hehe fire, hehe! Let's wait until the flame goes from light blue to white before we enter! hehe! Now they just let me look at sprinkler heads, exit signs, monitoring systems, etc. But they still can't take away my humour!

Naaaw, they don't allow pot clubs in my City! But as far as fumes in a facility, I've had my share of walking into structures with NFPA standard placards (the triangle thingie with the four places for numbers on a specific color background, the higher the number(4 is the highest), the greater the risk) with me looking at a 3,3,4, with a no water and pyro added to the mix. Makes you wonder about the quality of life the workers inside have. Most are really tight controlling it all, but I have been in a few that were not so compliant. The worst are the small R&D labs that we find by "gee, what are you guy's doing here"? Or the time I missed an address pulled in next door to flip around the back loading dock area and found 4 shipping containers used as "storage" with the placard showing 4,4,4, explosives!

Well Terry, just for you - not a pot club but you might be interested in this; the Academy of Science is mixing Cocktails, Beer, Wine and Science on Thursday Nite: http://www.calacademy.org/events/nightlife/

Might order the Plutanium Martini next time. Lol.
