  1. I've been a member for about a year and have only been active on the forums when I've broken something.

I figured it's time to to get get more active in the club and show what I'm working with...

My passion is is driving trails like Rubicon, Fordyce & Ducy Ershim...until now, I've done in a 79 CJ7... it's on jack stands undergoing a major heart and lung transplant...

With my beloved Jeep on life support, I thought it was a good idea to start using my RRC as a replacement to drive the trails I love.... the learning curve hit pretty hard.

The with few mods, RRC did pretty well on the first couple miles of the Rubicon but took out a rear diff in the way back to camp...lockers and gears are in it's future

  2. Made my annual Rubicon trip with friends this weekend. My RRC did great with the minor mods I did since last year...until it didn't...blu the rear biff just before the giant granite bowl on our way out heading to our camp at the Loon lake trail head...had to get towed through the gate keeper (that wasn't fun)

Opportunity knocks...lemons make lemonade... time to up grade...

I'm not looking to make my rig into a full time rock crawler but want it to be a little more capable and reliable.

Since I have to rebuild the rear diff anyway and I've been wanting to regear it...I'm thinking 4.43 gears and true-trac front and rear (currently running 265/75-16 BFG AT...like to go up a couple inches)

What's your guys opinion on those gears and double True-trac combo?
