March MORG

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I just got back in town (so nice to be back home). School in Maryland was a success but it left me with a serious case of the off roading itch, since there was no place to go off roading there) four months with no play time; OUCH. I wont make the shaver lake run since I just spent 4 months in the cold and the snow so not really looking forward to any more of it for a while, but I still want to go out and play some.

I noticed no recent posts on a March MORG. Was it cancelled all together since it runs at the same time with the Shaver lake run, or is anyone still planning to come out to play?

Luis I'm glad to hear you made back ok, it's been a long time!! Unfortunately I'll miss you at the MORG in March, will be on the Shaver Lake trip that weekend. There's some talk about a combined BOD meeting/over night camping/MORG in April which sounds like a lot of fun. Can't wait to catch up with you in person again.

Welcome back Luis!

Ditto on Shaver Lake! A few MORG regulars will be at this trip e.g. Brenton, Steven, me... April MORG looks good on my calendar. I also need to take pics of the rock garden in Hollister; need to plan for the Rubicon Ready Clinic sometime this summer and hopefully a trip to the Con in Sept/Oct.

C yah!

Ron not sure exactly what you're looking for but I have some pics and video of the rock garden. I assume you mean the one that is next to the frame twister, not the one in the gully to the left of the stair steps.

I may still go out for a little while just to scratch the itch, even if it's just me. The April one sounds like a lot of fun. I will definitely have that one penned in my callendar. I may even convince my wife to take Snow White out also so we can play with both generations!

I intend on showing up.This will be my first morg, any word on the T-shirts and decals?

Glad to hear you're coming. I don't believe we've met yet so looking forward to meeting ya. What do you drive, any mods? It will probably be just the two of us since most people are doing the Shaver Lake run but I'll be more than happy to show you around our play ground. Let's meet at the usual spot by the Kiosk around 10AM.

Let me post one more time to encourage any other new member I have not met yet, especially anyone who has not been out to any MORG yet to come out and meet us at Hollister tomorrow. I'll have a fun day of trails planned out for you! Also any of the usuals that wants to join us, definitely try to make it out and help welcome DDreager to his first outting. I know Shaver lake group leaves on the same day, and next month's MORG is working out to be more like a large overnight gathering which should be a blast, but if you can squeeze in a little play time tomorrow, we'll have a good time together!

Well, looks like I'm the first one posting about today's MORG. I was very surprised by the turn-out. I was honestly not expecting as many to show up as they did, with Shaver Lake and all. Thanks Will for joining us today. We had many new members come and some prospective ones as well. I think a great time was had by all. We had fun, decent challenges (with the trails still wet and slipery) and a safe, sunny day.

Saw a lot of people taking pictures, hopefully some of them will make it to the forum soon! Again, it was a real pleasure meeting every new member I just met for the first time today. Hope to see everyone again hitting the trail very soon!!

Greg, my broinlaw was co-pilot and handled the photo duties, thanks to him here are a few. And yes it was great to see Luis after his long winter noreaster break.

BTW, I had a chance to talk with Park Ranger John for a few minutes and April MORG is shaping up to be an overnight camping excursion to the dark side (new park expansion across cienega road).

Looks like a couple of RRC's out there showing their stuff....

Anyone catch any names, so we can put photo to screen name?

BTW, my RRC now dead with fuel/starter issues...glad I didn't come, I'd still be there.

Randy Gubert - White Disco

Antonio Anguiano - White 1999 Range Rover P38

btw, Marin Land Rover was having their wheels event at Hollister that same day. Our groups passed each other on Fremontia Trail. Said hi to Justin one of the Instructors from Land Rover Experience Driving School and met Lee Magee (sp?)

Could use both; if you have pics/vid of one next to the frame twister, send me the link. Much appreciated; thanks!

BTW, thanks for the hooded sweat shirts - was waiting for me when I got back from the Shaver Lake trip. I have one from last year, and this year, ordered one for my wife. She loves it! Told her it's her dividend for all her support.
