I got 'NCLR' as a personalized plate. Will said I should have gotten 'NCLRXXX' with my membership number, but I'll reserve that for my next Rover in the fleet. I wanted to be the first with 'NCLR!' Good segue way into introducing the club to other Rover owners I meet in gas stations, parking lots. Precious is my daily driver/commuter!

My Camel Trophy D110 w/custom lic plate NCLR 26 on Bald Mtn trail, and then back at home with my two boys: Jake 3 yrs old, and Max 6 (my 3 year old was slipping in action  :))!

Mine's on the way...NCLR 87.

8 to 12 weeks though...can't those convicts stamp out plates any faster than that?:D

If I want to get another for the Series II I could always go with NCLRO87...No option for the number zero though, have to do it with an O.

The zero works just fine, doesn't conflict with any current configurations...

I was just referring to the DMV's handy-dandy personalized license plate maker-thingy on the link you posted above. If you scroll down to the numbers, it's just 1 through 9, no zero listed. (Or maybe I'm just not quite smart enough to figure it out...:D)

No BFD though...I got mine ordered, that's the main thing!

There's Dan! How was the gig in San Diego?

NCLRO can work "Northern California Land Rover Owner" or can be mistaken for the "National Council of La Raza Organization" http://www.nclr.org :D

Hey amigo!

Either way is cool! :)

Kidding set a side, NCLR 87 looks better!

THey could have ordered it at the counter, it'll look about the same, glad you got it! In other news, we messed around with the screw compressor and it completely blew up, complete with elecrical shower and 12 guage going off boom! Scared to touch it now! Using the lift lots though...

Jeez, I can't leave you guys alone unsupervised around 3-phase equipment, that's for sure...! Did it trip the breaker? Does the press still work? I guess I'll have to look at it Monday...

oh yeah, how about that pic!

I dunno...I think that NorCal Relics T-shirt makes me look fat...oh wait! Maybe it's my fat belly that makes me look fat!:D

... It sucks that you actually have to go to the DMV to pick it up.

I know what you mean. A trip to the Dept. of Morons and Vagrants is way at the bottom of my list of favorite places to visit.

Yeah, I knew that...when I registered the Rover in the first place I had to surrender the original Oregon plates and I put the Ca. plates on right there in the DMV parking lot. And I've been driving English cars long enough to know that you never go anywhere without at least a few basic hand tools!

Dan,

Any word on your plates? I'm also waiting and thought if you got yours, mine will follow shortly.

Thanks

Nothing, not a word. I did call DMV last week and was told they were running behind. My problem is that I had to cancel my credit card as someone got ahold of my number, and it was the card I'd used to order the plate. I spent half the morning one day last week on hold to various departments at the Department of Morons and Vegetables trying to solve the problem and give someone who might have a clue my new card number for the plates, and all I got was the run-around. I guess I'll have to wait for them to contact me...

Wow, that totally sucks. Not looking forward to going to DMV at all. I just got my drivers license renewed by mail!

I'll keep you posted on my luck

nice. others have gotten NCLR and their membership number.

Apparently the DMV has had a change of heart. My request for NCLR 88 was denied per CA VC, Section 5150....

"...considered offensive, misleading or in conflict with any existing license plates series issued."

Did anyone else get this letter? On what grounds could I realistically challenge this?

Thanks

Someone else has it. Can't be offensive; otherwise, the DMV wound not have approved mine "NCLR 26" and others

You can go with 88 NCLR; it's avail; who said the member number can't preceed NCLR.

Good luck Jim
