seldomwright
Any one have any insight into this problem? Out of nowhere when filling up, it was filling super slowly, then suddenly pouring out of the filler without shutting off the pump. Happened three times and I even tried a different pump with same results. It's like it's the tank is not venting and it's getting pressurized? Thanks for reading. -Chris Mr.BlueSky
Mr.BlueSky
Hello Chris! I expect that, yes, your tank is pressurizing as you fill it (forcing fuel in, compressing trapped air, --> spewing gas all over pants).... Check your vent tubes in the filler neck - there is usually one. I think there is also a vent tube on the top side of the fuel tank that you may want to check as well. I believe most if not all D1s have an access panel to this area that can be found in the rear load space under the carpet and sound deadening. When I clear diff breathers, I typically disconnect them at the source (in your case the gas tank) and give them a shot of compressed air to blow the gunk out. seldomwright
Well, as with many of this D1's gremlins, this one fixed itself the next day. Thanks for the info Mr.BlueSky. I'll cross my fingers and check out those breather tubes the next time it happens. Hopefully no time soon. Mr.BlueSky
