Washington Backcountry Discovery Route

Recommended Posts

I've done the Oregon Discovery Trail twice now; perhaps in the future plans to do the Washington Back Country Discovery Route. Route Map: http://www.wabdr.com/Map

Start from the Oregon/Washington border, cross the State of Washington, and end at the border to British Columbia, Canada.

DVD, map and tracks avail for $24.95: http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/PN-091-0210/DVD-Washington-Backcountry-Discovery-Route-Expedition-Documentary

Anyone here have done this before? Might be a good baby step before the Alaska trip

I have yet to even make it to the Oregon Backcountry and now we have already moved on to a new travel vehicle....

Need to find some time and get my Dad to come along.

Perhaps this trip can be open to "all" vehicle types including Subarus and Volkswagens (smile)! No Jeeps though (he! he!) - j/k. Will even let Toyotas in.

Did Aaron, aka Toyota Riff-Raff, tell you what his day job is? He owns a Subaru shop.

Yes, I already hit him up to be a sponsor for the annual event, said we had a handful of members with Subarus EDDs/wive's cars, and they would love an oil change GC...haven't heard back yet. We'll see.

Too bad it doesn't hook up with the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route. That would be quite a trip. Actually we have done less than half of the Oregon Discovery route going North. It goes into Washington near Walla Walla, way east.

Hi there Brian, good to hear from you. If the Alaska trip doesn't pan out next year, I might be interested in leading an Oregon trip. Now that I'm equiped w/a ham radio and better GPS system (Baja Claw 540c), I am game!

Sounds good Brian. Going to be asking for a head count for the 2013 Alaska trip by our 2012 Oct Annual Gathering w/plans in mind ea participant to purchase their ferry ticket by December; if we don't get a min of two trucks going to Alaska, would like to suggest Oregon or even this Washington Backcountry instead.
