MORG this weekend!

Recommended Posts

My brother and I were already planning to head down to HH this Sat before I realized it was the MORG to test out some of our new additions. He's got a 2008 Tacoma that he just fitted new 35s to and new fiberglass fenders upfront. I've got the ARB bumper and winch on the LR3 now. We plan on getting there by 9am. If you guys don't mind a Tacoma taggin' along, we'll swing by the locked entrance gate around 10-10:15 to meet up with you guys

This is what MORG's are all about. It is a time to bring anyone along so we can show off the Rover's to non Rover people. Otherwise they never see how awesome our rigs are. Of all the rigs I have seen at HH, and some have been amazing, I was really impressed with a Taco Std Cab that had the fiberglass fenders, lift etc but had dovetailed the bed (maybe the nose too) in such a way that it still open/painted/decaled and looked totally stock. It was amazing. So, bring the Taco along. Should be a lot of fun.

Cool, we'll plan to meet up with you guys at 10-10:15 at the locked gate entrance. I'll be in a Stornoway Grey LR3 with ARB bumper & bajarack and my brother will be in the Silver tacoma with ARB bumper...tough to miss us ;) My brother added a crawler box to his Tacoma too, so he'll probably end up showing us all up LOL

Going to be taking my blue D2 down for a change (haven't had a chance to do the transfer case on the RRC). No heroics (no mud, logs, water, .... loose gravel, hills, rocks, dust ....). Need to have something roadworthy for Shaver Lake.

What? I thought you said you were coming? This is not the Greame I know.

Another fun MORG. Great seeing everyone and meeting new people, as always. Alan x2 - great seeing you again. I was genuinely surprised - most of the Rovers out today were LR3s/LR4s and some Disco2s. Had a great time testing out the new gadgets on the Rover (4.6, LT230, etc.) and amazingly didn't break anything.

Mike - hope you made it home... let us know what happened to your Rover!

Some pictures (accidentally left camera on manual focus, so they aren't as sharp as they could be :( )...

I like my Rover. Swing-away tire carrier/jerry can holder fabbed up by Pedram! I can vouch for its toughness... I bumped the jerry can holder on some rocks in the frame twister

Another shot... forgot to take off the painter's tape from the latches.

Made it home, AAA tow. Got out to the 25/101 and I was having a real hard time keeping the truck on the road. Hard to explain, but imagine driving in really hard cross winds. Smooth to the left, correct, smooth to the right, a little feeling like fishtail and I slow to a stop. Made the decision to tow her home instead of trying to drive all the way home on side streets. Had the kids with me, so made the right decision.

Preliminary inspect says that it may be the steering box as the tie rods/wheel nuts/panhard bar, front arm bushing are all okay.

Yes, I had all those tools with me and started removing everything on the tow wait.

Thanks to everyone who stopped to check on us. We are all perfectly ok, kids in the bath as I type.

Want to see the video of the stair steps Antonio. Bonus to anyone who spots the chocolate milk.

Yeah, first tow home. Gonna happen sometime. Driving on the flatbed and off makes it much easier to take since it was a "better than getting in trouble on the way" decision. Great meeting you too. Have to do a local day in the Tri Valley soon

Mike good to hear you made it home safe.

It was nice to see old and new faces. I had a great time. I wish i would have stayed there longer. I missed out the roll over. I guess the guy didn't read the sign that said "Don't follow me you won't make it." :-)

Here is the link to the pictures and videos I took today. I did spot the milk.

why must the video players be so difficult. Yet to see the video at full speed and not in sepia tones. And I upgraded the plug in and everytihing, ugh.
I was only able to watch the vides by downloading the .MOV (using the download at the top of the page) and played them through QuickTime player. Loved spotting the cartons of milk on the bumper.

I can't get it to play fluid at all. I only have windows and unbuntu, so maybe that's the issue? I downloaded and get a "negative" of the video..green grass and blue tailights...and I can "bump" thru the vid, but nothing streaming. I try it on the laptop, color is right but no bump and no stream.

She who must be obeyed watched Nick's video (we all have updated quicktime) but the Milk truck just won't run.

Anyone convert and post it in jpg or if we are friends, post it to FB so I can see it? Kids want to see so bad. Thanks
