Hollister Hills Overland Rally 2011

Recommended Posts

I've been really on the fence about it. I went last year and had a great time, been looking forward to going again. But they've almost doubled the cost this year and that, with the gas it would take me to get down there and back (not to mention food and other expenses) makes it economically unfeasible for me right now...plus, I just picked up a Rover repair job to do in San Jose next Sat. so it's probably more important for me to make money than to spend it right now...!

And yet I can't seem to stop trying to find a way to make it work out...

Hi Justin!

You can sign up for the event all the way up to the event, in fact you can register at the event if needed.

Jonah Street was at the WA Rally but he will not be at Hollister.

Emily Miller of Rod Hall Racing and the Rallye Des Gazelles will be there to teach navigation and advanced 4WD driving skills. She will also give a presentation on Friday night.

I will post the finalized details of the schedule in another post but a few highlights include:

- Premier of an overlanding film by Expedition Overland

- Presentation on the Rallye Des Gazelles by Emily Miller

- Premier of an overlanding film by Beyond the Lane

- Presentation by Luis Getter on their multi-year overlanding trip

- Friday night happy hour provided by Triple Aught Design and Overland Gourmet

- Saturday night catered BBQ dinner

- Yes, we will have an advanced vehicle recovery class with rollover scenarios.

Regards,

Brian

Tell me what you want/need and I'll tell you if I have it or not...:D

Ball's back in your court!

Heading down to the Bay Area tomorrow to do Rover work for the weekend, got several jobs lined up and bringing parts down for customers as well. Not much room left for big items but I've lot's of little stuff I can squeeze in!

Anybody need an LT230? Got two of 'em...

I came across a rear shaft at Eric's yesterday, not sure if it's LWB or not, I can check when I go back over there on Monday.

I have a couple of window ECUs, I'm bringing them down with me to see if that solves the rear window problems on the '95 I'm working on in San Jose tomorrow.

We should probably take this conversation to PMs or email from here on in order to keep the thread on topic...
